The new EA FC 25 was officially released on September 27. All players can dive into the new football simulation and familiarize themselves with the innovations. On MeinMMO, we present you with 7 simple tips that will quickly improve your game.
This is the new EA FC 25: A key point to note is that EA FC 25 hasn’t reinvented the wheel of football simulation games and feels similar to its predecessor FC 24 in many aspects.
Nevertheless, every new installment brings its own quirks that you have to get used to, which can be somewhat frustrating at first.
To make the adjustment period as short and simple as possible, we recommend 7 tips that should quickly guide you to become a better FC-25 player.
1. Tip: Adjust your camera settings
It sounds cosmetic, but it is very important for your gaming experience. The default standard camera promises a more dynamic broadcast, but it is unsuitable for optimal overview.
Which camera is the best? We recommend the Tele or Coop broadcast settings. This centers the camera on your players and gives you a better overhead view of the pitch. This way, you can better assess where your teammates are, identify open spaces, and intercept the opponent’s runs early.
So before you really get started, you should start a game in an offline match, for example in the kickoff menu, then pause and navigate the following path to adjust the camera settings: Settings → Game Settings → Camera → Single Player Camera
You can read a detailed comparison between the two cameras with additional fine adjustments here: EA FC 25 Camera Settings for Ultimate Team: The Most Popular Perspectives Compared
2. Tip: Let the AI determine the difficulty level
If you want to get started in FC 25, you can simply jump into a game this year without thinking about the appropriate difficulty level. The new game intelligence takes care of that for you.
How does the AI help with the difficulty level? In the first game in kickoff mode, you can agree to let the AI determine the game difficulty based on your playing style. You will start at a low difficulty level.
Depending on the flow of the game and based on the goals scored and conceded, the difficulty will increase or decrease. This way, you know where you stand gameplay-wise at the beginning and can still take your time to familiarize yourself with the new mechanics in FC 25.
This way, you avoid making it too difficult at the beginning and feeling frustrated. Or, making it too easy and getting bored.
3. Tip: Use the new game intelligence for your tactics
The new game intelligence in FC 25, called FC IQ, provides you with entirely new tactical variety. Each team has its own tactical concept. Every coach and their tactical instructions are unique.
How to use game intelligence for your tactics: Instead of spending hours tinkering with your own tactics that somehow don’t quite work, we recommend for the beginning to try out the strongest teams (5-star teams) with the best coaches and their formations in the kickoff mode until you find a suitable one.
Recommendations for strong teams include:
- FC Bayern Munich
- Bayer Leverkusen
- FC Arsenal
- Manchester City
- FC Barcelona
- Real Madrid
If you want to be inspired by the tactics of a professional in Ultimate Team, you can simply import their tactic code for your team: A pro from EA FC 25 shows his tactic codes: All formations with instructions at a glance
And that’s not all the game intelligence has to offer for your tactics: In the game itself, the AI observes your playing style and the current score and even suggests new tactical concepts. For example, it gives you recommendations if you are trailing or having trouble defending against the opponent’s attacks.
With a simple click on the arrow keys, you can then adopt the proposed changes.
You can find a comprehensive report on the new possibilities with FC IQ here: Through a new technology in FC 25, everyone finds their perfect tactic without having to study FIFA
4. Tip: Familiarize yourself with the new player roles
FC IQ also introduces a completely new feature: player roles. They replace the player instructions from FC 24 and combine the individual instructions into a role, which includes various runs and behaviors of the player off the ball.
Why you should familiarize yourself with the roles: The roles are a fundamental component for the gaming experience in FC 25. Each role brings advantages and disadvantages. Once you understand how your players behave in their roles, you can anticipate your players’ runs and thus gain a crucial advantage over your opponents:
Role is not just a role, as there are differences within player roles. MeinMMO has compiled the most important facts about the new roles: EA FC 25: What does the plus mean on my player?
5. Tip: Use the players’ playstyles
A feature that may not be completely new but is still very relevant are the playstyles, which have been present since FC 24. The best playstyles distinguish very good players from the best players. Playstyles are abilities that allow a player to shoot, pass, or defend better.
Each playstyle gives the player certain advantages that other players don’t have.
How do you utilize playstyles? Keeping your players’ playstyles in mind can greatly assist you in decision-making on the pitch:
- Players with strong passing playstyles should drive the ball less and try to involve their teammates.
- Players with shot playstyles should be positioned well for finishing and shouldn’t hesitate when an opportunity arises.
- Players with ball control playstyles should be the ones you dribble with to outplay your opponents.
6. Tip: Adapt to the new gameplay mechanics
Every new EA FC installment brings its own special characteristics and mechanics. Good players in EA FC are not defined by playing the most beautiful football, but by understanding the game the best.
What we can say so far about the new gameplay mechanics: So far, we have noticed two significant changes in FC 25 compared to FC 24:
- The new sprint boost is OP and is the best option to outplay your opponent
- Passes are much more difficult and can only be perfectly executed by the best passers with the best passing playstyles
So be vigilant in the first hours of play and pay attention to what works well and less well. Use various passes, shots, dribbles, or special moves.
7. Tip: Better to sprint less than too much
A rule of thumb that has always applied in the last football simulations from EA, and yet is often violated: Keep your finger off the sprint button.
Speed is an important factor in FC 25, but it should be used very sparingly, especially in attack.
Why you shouldn’t sprint too often: If you hold down the sprint button continuously, your players will experience the following negative effects:
- they can handle balls inadequately when receiving
- you are significantly less agile while sprinting and cannot make quick directional changes
- your players tire earlier, and their performance diminishes
You should only sprint when you truly have no opponent and a lot of space in front of you. We have compiled a list of the best sprinters in EA FC 25: The 10 fastest players in Ultimate Team
With that, you have 7 important tips to get started. Some tips are easier to implement than others. Especially tips for gameplay may be a bit more challenging at first. We therefore recommend trying out one or two tips a day and internalizing them.
I have also played the new EA FC 25 for several hours and am especially excited about one new feature: After 30 games in FC 25, I feel like a master coach because my players move like world stars
