The Team of the Week (TOTW) in EA FC 24 comes with two strong new features. The special cards have been receiving not only stronger stat boosts since TOTW 23. Selected players can even look forward to up to two additional golden playstyles.
What is the Team of the Week in EA FC 24? The Team of the Week brings a team of the best performers from the past matchday each week, based on the performances of real football professionals. The players receive one of the well-known black-gold special cards with improved stats, and some even got a new Playstyle+ added so far.
Although the TOTW is one of the oldest institutions in Ultimate Team, it has lost a lot of appreciation in recent years. The TOTW players are mainly only interesting when they are needed for Squad Building Challenges (SBCs). A multitude of better event cards, such as the stars of the FC Fantasy event, have long overtaken the TOTW.
However, this could change now, as EA has revamped the upgrades in several ways. This is best seen in the current TOTW.
TOTW significantly renewed: more intense boosts and two Playstyle+
That’s why the TOTW could become interesting again: We have noticed that more is being done with the upgrades of the TOTW now.
More intense stat boosts:
EA is not shy to distribute two Inform upgrades at once. This can be seen, for example, in the current TOTW 24 with Milan star Rafael Leão, who should have actually received an upgrade from 86 to 87, but now has even an 88. Even stronger is the upgrade of Juve player Vlahović, who jumps from an 83 directly to an 88.
Twice as many Playstyles+:
In addition, selected players will receive one or two new Playstyle+, depending on whether their base card had a golden playstyle before the upgrade.
This innovation makes several cards much more interesting at once. After 5 months of EA FC 24, one can argue that some playstyles are almost more important than the pure stats of the card, as they significantly enhance shooting, passing, and defending. Some playstyles can even make your players faster.
Thus, the TOTW card of Union Berlin star and national player Robin Gosens, with the golden playstyles “In the Air” and “Block,” suddenly becomes a real defensive powerhouse. In addition, there is also the already strong upgrade of his stats from 79 to 87.

Which players will receive the stronger upgrades? So far, only the two strongest players, as well as the featured TOTW cards (identified by the star above the rating), have received the upgrades with additional Playstyle+.
As the season in EA FC 24 approaches its climax, we can imagine that EA will provide more TOTW players with the revamped upgrades in the coming weeks.
