EA FC 24 has launched and players want to improve their teams in Ultimate Team. The Squad Battles mode is ideal for this.
What are Squad Battles? In this mode, you play against the AI instead of real players. For each match, you receive a score based on the result and various game data. The better you play, the more points you earn.
These points contribute to your weekly ranking, and you can complete a total of 32 matches that will be counted. Your result then determines what kind of rewards you receive. The higher you finish, the better the reward. The Squad Battles rewards are always available on Sunday mornings.
However, the regular Squad Battles rewards are not the only reason you should play this weekend.
Many packs in the objectives are easier to achieve in Squad Battles
There are various reasons to start in Squad Battles if you want to improve your team.
The difficulty: You can choose how strong your opponent is. This gives you, firstly, the opportunity to play with affordable starter teams, and secondly, to try out new gameplay mechanics.
Especially at the beginning, the Division Rivals mode is very competitive, as many players are starting and stronger opponents also need to rank up. If you want to start more relaxed, choose Squad Battles.
The time: Squad Battles have 4-minute halves this year. This allows you to finish matches faster than in other modes.
Strong rewards in objectives: There are a lot of objectives right at the start in EA FC 24 that you can complete relatively quickly if you score many goals in Squad Battles and achieve high victories. A few examples of current objectives:
- You get a “Gold Pack” for 25 assists, a “Two-Rare-Gold-Players-Pack” for 50 assists, and a “Premium-Gold-Players-Pack” for 150 assists in any mode. This works well in Squad Battles. A Jumbo-Rare-Players-Pack is even available for 400 assists, but that takes longer.
- There are also some rewards for the completion objectives.
- 10 chip goals bring a “Two-Rare-Gold-Players” pack.
- A Mega-Pack is available for 50 power shot goals.
- A Rare Mega-Pack is awarded for 75 goals from finesse shots.
- Another Rare Mega-Pack is available for 100 goals.
- 250 goals earn you a Jumbo-Rare-Players-Pack.
- 50 volley goals give you a Premium-Gold-Players-Pack.
- The series “Mastery: Squad Battles” in the milestones rewards you with different packs for Squad Battles victories.
- A “Rare Player (82+)” pack is available for 10 victories.
- A “Two-Rare-Gold-Players-Pack” is available for 25.
- A “Rare-Players-Pack” is available at 50.
- More rewards are available for 100, 200, and 300 victories as well as for overall completion. That will take longer, but especially at the start, it is useful.
- “FC-Founder” is a task series where you need to collect various victories and goals while wearing the “FC-Founder home jersey”. You get this as a Founder if you play until November 1st. Here you get a lot of EP, which helps you progress in the season and earn rewards.
Even more objectives: These are just a few examples; more objectives may be added. There is also a series of objectives with first ownership players – that is, players you have from SBCs, packs, or rewards, not from the transfer market. If you build a corresponding team, you can also earn the rewards from it on the side.
Some of these objectives can also be completed in other modes; in Squad Battles, it is simply easier. Especially if you want to collect many packs to enhance your team at the start, this is advisable.

Evolutions: You can improve some of your players in Evolutions. You can usually use Squad Battles matches to complete your objectives and upgrade your players. This is also worth it early on.
