As part of the Black Friday promo, EA Sports brings a lot of new packs to FC 24 in the Ultimate Team shop. These include packs that guarantee two Icons or two Heroes, but they come with a hefty price. Is it worth gambling on luck then?
This is the situation:
- Black Friday has been a staple in the promo calendar of FC 24 Ultimate Team for years, offering unique packs for players of the virtual collectible card game.
- This year, publisher EA Sports has come up with something new and has already released guaranteed Icon and Hero packs at the start of the event, available in the shop for coins or FC Points.
- However, the gamble has its price. Since the rewards can significantly improve the players’ team at best, they need to invest a large sum to open the packs.
EA Sports brings “Dynamic Duo” Icon and Hero Pack to the Ultimate Team Shop
How much do the packs cost? The prices of the offered packs have significantly increased in recent years. In this case, EA Sports is no exception.
- For the “Dynamic Duo Heroes Pack”, players need to invest either 350,000 Coins or 2,500 FC Points. This corresponds to about a price of 25 € without special offers.
- The “Dynamic Duo Icons Pack” is even more expensive. 450,000 Coins or 3,000 FC Points, which currently cost about 27 € in the shop, are required before opening.
What is included in the packs? In addition to the special cards, the UT players receive other items, all of which are untradeable.
- Those who choose the Hero variant will receive two Hero professional items with a total value of 86 or higher. Additionally, the promo pack contains 20 rare gold players.
- In contrast, the Icons Pack contains only two base Icon professionals with an overall rating of up to 88 and ten rare gold players.
Are the packs worth it? The hope for a player who strengthens the team is of course always there. However, experience shows that the probability of getting the best cards is extremely low, and thus very few in the community are rewarded for their risk.
- As of now, 44 out of 54 possible Heroes cost less than the 350,000 coins needed to invest.
- Currently, 42 out of the 49 Icons available cost less than the necessary 450,000 coins.
The chance of getting good rare gold players or other promo cards is also disappointing. The pack probabilities show that there is only a nearly one percent chance to count on.
Nevertheless, some highlights can already be found on social media. The user “Fut Sheriff” posted via X the picture of a happy follower whose pack was worth it. In addition to two playable Icons, the UT player can now also own one of the best meta cards in FC 24, Eusebio.
However, such lucky strikes do not reflect the yield of the wider community. Therefore, one should carefully consider whether the packs are worth the coins or points – even if you may not receive any of the desired cards.
