EA FC 24 has already started in Early Access, and the first event didn’t take long to arrive. But what about the traditional OTW promo (Ones to Watch)?
Update, September 28, 2023: Meanwhile, a loading screen in Ultimate Team confirms the start of the RTTK promo (Road to the Knockouts) for tomorrow, Friday. We definitely won’t see an OTW event as the first promo.
In recent years, when EA FC was still called FIFA, the Ultimate Team season always started with the same event: the Ones to Watch. But this year, it is suspiciously quiet regarding the prominent FUT promo. Can we still expect the event, or is the OTW really not happening this year?
What is the OTW event actually? The OTW event brought Ones-to-Watch cards into play in the past. These were special FUT cards based on the biggest transfers of the respective football summer. For example, this year, Harry Kane, who transferred to FC Bayern, would be a perfect candidate for a new OTW card.
The special feature of these cards was that they were dynamic items. They improved each time the player received a TOTW– or Man-of-the-Match card.
OTW Event: Is it coming to EA Sports FC 24?
What we know about the OTW event in FC 24: So far, EA Sports has not said a word about the popular OTW event. Even in the Pitch Notes for Ultimate Team, the development studio has presented new card designs, but none of them come close to a classic OTW design.

Reasons against an OTW event in EA FC 24: Another indication against an OTW event is that this Friday, September 29, 2023, the Road to the Knockouts is already the next event. This usually came significantly later in previous years.
In addition, there have been no leaks about OTW cards from known channels like DONK or Fut Sheriff in recent days and weeks. And with the pre-order bonuses for the Ultimate Edition of FC 24, players this year receive a guaranteed Hero card and no OTW card as in previous years.
So is there no OTW event in FC 24? We cannot say for sure. However, so far, all signs point against a soon release of the OTW promo. A later release could still be possible.
