In EA FC 24 a new bug is causing a stir. The glitch, much to the dismay of the FIFA community, is not only unrealistic but also promises a guarantee of goals as it is practically undefendable.
What’s it about? Numerous videos circulating online show a glitch in EA FC 24 where the player gets the ball stuck between the lower leg, thigh, and knee pit. However, contrary to what is intended, the ball seems to stick to the leg and cannot be separated from the player.
On Reddit, a user uploaded a clip of this bug. In this case, it affected the FIFA professional “HASHTAG STOKES”.
Playstyle Trickster enables ball bug
How does the ball bug work? The clip shows player Fridolina Rolfö from FC Barcelona performing a so-called flick skill at the midpoint. The “Catch a Spin” shown here is one of many skill moves that can only be executed by players with the so-called Trickster playstyle.
The first part of the “Catch a Spin” involves pinning the ball between the calf, knee pit, and thigh before nudging it forward with a jerky motion.
However, if you interrupt the skill move during the first part of the execution at the right moment, the ball seemingly gets stuck in the knee pit. You can interrupt tricks, shots, passes, or crosses by pressing all 4 back R-buttons and L-buttons on the PlayStation or Xbox simultaneously.
Normally, the trick looks like this when properly executed, as shown in the following video:
Why is the skill move unstoppable? In the second part of the above-linked video, you can see the player with the glued ball running through the opposing team’s ranks. For the AI of the defending players, which always directs its defensive actions towards the ball, it seems impossible to deal with the unwanted bug.
Consequently, the tackling attempts of players trying to take the seemingly magnetized ball go empty. This, of course, gives the one exploiting this bug an enormous advantage.
This not only visibly annoys the FIFA pro in the video but also the Reddit community of EA FC 24. You can read the reactions to this new bug below.
Just recently, we reported on another bug that made it almost impossible for some players to take decent penalties.
Reddit user astonished by new mishap
How does the FIFA community react to the new OP bug? In the aforementioned subreddit where the video served as a hook, users agree that the bug must be removed from the game as soon as possible.
Top commentator “CuteCatMug” is surprised, especially that people can even discover such errors (via reddit.com).
User “OG-Builds” makes the following observation in their top response to the comment: “One posts this bug, and 90% of the comments ask how to do it. This community would rather exploit the bug than have fun with the game.” (via reddit.com)
In contrast, user “Sirop-d-arabe” argues that the only way to remove and fix bugs from the game is to exploit them first (via reddit.com). They somewhat take the bug abusers out of the firing line.
In light of the increasing occurrence of bugs in EA FC 24, “Horse-Dig” summarizes the game’s state as follows: “We’re playing an open beta that costs €110, right?” (via reddit.com)
So, there’s now a new bug again. How long it will stay in the game remains open. However, we will keep you updated if there’s anything new to report.
The fact that the prices for the mentioned players with Trickster playstyle have not skyrocketed shows us that the community can have fun with the game even without exploiting bugs.
Besides the aforementioned penalty bug, the career mode also ran a bit rough. There was an issue with coach dismissals.
