All Shots in EA FC 24: How They Work
What do the different shooting techniques bring me? After the first games this year, we noticed that goalkeepers show strong reflexes on the goal line and are hard to beat with normal shots. Therefore, we will show you how to situationally use different shot variations successfully and how to perform them. Additionally, we will also clarify whether certain playstyles can enhance the corresponding shots.
We base our guides on the assumption that you are using the classic FIFA settings for your controller settings. We start with perhaps the most important shot in EA FC 24.
Curled Shot
Is there a playstyle for the curled shot? Yes, there is an appropriate playstyle. This gives your curled shots even more accuracy and spin. An example of a player with the Playstyle Plus is Antoine Griezmann.
As the name suggests, you apply spin to the ball with this finishing technique to curl it around the goalkeeper into the goal. The curled shot is taken with the inside of the foot and is most effective when you aim with your player’s strong foot at the far post.
This year, it is suitable not only for curls from outside the box but also in one-on-one situations with the goalkeeper.
How do I perform the curled shot? Simply hold R1 on PlayStation or RB on Xbox during a shot. If you are shooting from more than 16 m, charge the shot properly so that it flies towards the goal with enough speed.
From close distances, you can vary between low and high curled shots by holding the shoot button for more or less time.

Outside of the Foot Shot
Is there a suitable playstyle? There is also a playstyle for the outside of the foot shot. Trivela gives your outside of the foot shots more precision and automatically applies them contextually. The master of the outside of the foot is Luka Modrić and accordingly received the Trivela Playstyle+.
Unlike the curled shot, the outside of the foot shot is taken with the outside of the foot. In EA FC 24, the outside of the foot shot is effective both inside and outside the penalty area.

Cristiano Ronaldo, who despite the disappointment of a major YouTuber is no longer among the top players in EA FC 24, is still the most famous example of Playstyle+ for the power shot.
The power shot has been around since FIFA 23. It is the hardest shot in the entire game. However, its execution is not entirely simple because you need to align your left stick exactly towards the goal, so that the power shot does not fly into the stands.
Additionally, its charging takes time during which your opponent can separate you from the ball. Taking these aspects into account, the power shot is a real asset.
This is how you perform the power shot: Hold L1 and R1 on the PS during a shot or LB and RB on the Xbox. The camera will then focus on the ball and player. Try to keep your left stick stable towards the goal and not move it anymore.
The power shot can be used in all situations, as long as you have enough time and space. When the power shot is on target, it becomes dangerous for any goalkeeper.

Chip Shot
Is there a playstyle? Yes, the chip shot playstyle allows you to execute chips faster and even more accurately.
Borussia Dortmund’s long-time captain and superstar, Marco Reus, has indeed received a solid downgrade in EA FC 24 like some other deserving players, but he masters the chips with the Playstyle+ like few others.
Chips are balls that are played over the goalkeeper. Chips are best used when the opposing goalkeeper is too far off their line or aggressively rushes at you in a one-on-one situation.
How does the chip shot work? For a gentle chip, hold the L1 button while shooting. Depending on how far you are from the goal, you can charge it more or less strongly.
The chip shot is sensible outside the penalty area when the goalkeeper is far off the goal. With the chip shot playstyle, you can also use chip shots to overcome rushing keepers just before they attempt to dive on the ball.
Finally, we look at a particularly stylish finish.
Flair Shot
Can I only perform flair shots if I have the flair playstyle? No, in principle, any player can take a flair shot. However, the flair playstyle greatly helps with the precision of executing such shots. Additionally, a flair shot is automatically executed contextually when the opportunity arises for the player.
This also applies to the flair passes that we explained in more detail in another article. In this context, we also introduced Paulo Dybala. He is the only active player who has the Playstyle+, otherwise, only three female players and four icons have it.
The flair shot is the least effective type of shot among those listed here. It is primarily meant to add style to your game and looks cool.
The flair shot requires a bit of practice in execution and a suitable situation: To bring a flair shot on target, you theoretically just need to press L2 on PlayStation or LT on Xbox.
Flair shots are not easy to pull off. They heavily depend on the positioning towards the ball prior to the shot. If a ball is crossed into the penalty area and is behind your player, he can execute what is known as a scorpion kick, as seen in the image above.
Other variants of the flair shot are the backheel shot or the rabona shot.

Timed Finish greatly increases your chances of scoring
What is Timed Finish? This option, which you can individually enable or disable in the game settings, adds power and precision to your shots when executed correctly. Timed Finish is one of the most challenging disciplines in EA FC 24 and requires a lot of practice.
The Timed Finish is activated by a second click on the shoot button. You need to hit the timing when the player strikes the ball during the shooting attempt. If you hit this moment and score the Timed Finish in green, the ball is likely to find the net.
If you are too early, your shot will be very inaccurate.
Timed Finish can be applied to all shots, including headers and volleys. These direct hits from the air are also considered shots on goal and can be enhanced by playstyles.
Which playstyles do I need for volleys and headers? Acrobat and Power Header are the ideal playstyles to make direct strikes from the air more powerful and precise.
