The successor to FIFA 23 is called EA Sports FC 24 and now also has a first cover and a trailer. We look at interesting details.
The new trailer for EA Sports FC 24 is making the rounds and brings with it the cover of the Ultimate Edition. The internet already had a laugh about that, but overall, there are some interesting things to note about the cover.
What does the Ultimate Edition cover already reveal about the future of EA Sports FC 24? Some points are noticeable.
The date on which EA FC 24 will be presented
The first detail is not directly in the cover, but in the trailer that accompanies it. It is clarified there that the big reveal of the game will take place on July 13.
It is to be expected that first information about modes, release date, new gameplay elements and more will be shown here. It is even conceivable that pre-orders will be opened then. In July 2022, you could pre-order FIFA 23, after all.
Icons and Heroes among the Women
The cover features stars from both men’s and women’s soccer standing shoulder to shoulder. However, some women are particularly noticeable: Former US player Mia Hamm is portrayed on the official website with the “Icon” emblem, while Englishwoman Alex Scott is shown as a “Hero.”
This suggests that there are corresponding cards for legendary female players, which until now were actually only available in FUT mode. This would mean that the women are participating in Ultimate Team for the first time.
Icons in Club Jerseys
Noteworthy on the cover: Some legendary players like Ronaldinho, Drogba, and Drogba are depicted in the jerseys of their respective clubs, while, for example, Pelé wears the Brazil jersey. This is interesting because the clubs of the icons in FIFA have played no role so far, only the nations.
Who knows: Perhaps we will find out on July 13 whether it was a purely design decision for the cover, or whether a change of the icon cards, for example regarding chemistry, is in store for EA FC 24.
The question remains exciting, which legends will appear as new icons in EA Sports FC.
Dual Entitlement
At the bottom left of the cover, the term “Dual Entitlement” is visible. With this term, EA Sports described a feature of the Ultimate Edition in the past: “Dual Entitlement” allows you to play both the version of the old console generation and the new one.
This confirms that EA FC 24 will also continue to be released for the old consoles and can be played on both generations, depending on the version.
HyperMotion V
In the other corner of the cover, the term “HyperMotion V” is visible. The technology “HyperMotion” was introduced with FIFA 22 and describes the significantly revised animations that should make the game more realistic.
In FIFA 23, it was updated to HyperMotion 2, with additional animations. In EA Sports, the jump to “HyperMotion V” follows – which probably does not stand for “5”, but for “Volumetric Animation Technology”.
As the “Mirror” reports, EA Sports VP David Jackson explained that HyperMotion V is the next step and will bring 80 times as many animations as FIFA 23.
So, a technical leap on the field is to be expected here – what it will look like remains to be seen.
The big 24
The “24” is clearly visible in the title of EA Sports FC on the cover, but has now been communicated for the first time. Previously, only “EA Sports FC” was referred to as the title for the successor to FIFA 23, which fueled speculation that annual releases might be discontinued. The “24” now points more in the other direction.
