Now the FIFA successor EA FC 24 has finally been released and it’s time to play. However, with the new installment, a lot has changed and it’s definitely worth familiarizing yourself with the changes and the new gameplay. MeinMMO will share some tips and tricks for a perfect start in EA FC 24.
Although EA FC 24 is essentially still a FIFA in a new guise, there are some changes and innovations under the hood that have certainly changed and made the gameplay more realistic.
Our tips will help you celebrate your first successes in EA FC 24.
1. First, learn to defend properly
After your first match in EA FC 24, you may have already noticed: Defending in the FIFA successor has become significantly harder and now requires even more attention. Patience, organization, and timing are crucial here to separate the opponent from the ball at the right moment.
Keep the following points in mind:
- Let the opponent come and use sidesteps to stay close to them.
- Engage with the new “Advanced Defending” system. This allows you to decide whether to tackle with your upper body or legs.
- Focus on large, fast, and especially robust center-backs when assembling your team.

2. PlayStyles are significantly more important than expected
What are the PlayStyles of EA FC 24? The PlayStyles are a central new feature of FC 24. They give players unique attributes based on their real-life abilities. For example, there are PlayStyles that improve dribbling, provide stronger shots, enable great passes, and more.
The PlayStyles come in 2 variants, with the PlayStyles+ variant offering the biggest improvement.

Why PlayStyles are so exciting: The new PlayStyles make players who have otherwise been quite uninteresting in recent years finally really useful. Because even if a Julian Brandt, for example, does not have the best speed stats, his Tiki-Taka PlayStyle makes him really strong and playable.
This is especially true for difficult passes which become significantly more accurate with this PlayStyle. The finesse PlayStyle is also popular, as it feels almost like a cheat code. Players with this ability can effortlessly score from outside the box.

So, engage with PlayStyles and assess players not just based on their stats. A strong PlayStyle can make a difference on the pitch.
3. Learn the R1 dribbling. It’s OP and leaves everyone behind
Since we’re talking about PlayStyles, let’s introduce the technique PlayStyle, which significantly improves the new R1 dribbling. This PlayStyle suddenly makes players like Bernardo Silva popular because, despite low pace, he can slice through the opponent’s defense.
The new dribbling is called “Controlled Sprint”. It’s a form between normal running and full sprinting.
The big advantage here lies in the excellent combination of ball control and speed. It creates a new type of dribbling that can greatly help you navigate through the opponent’s defense. With quick, controlled movements, you can easily maneuver around opponents.
How to use the dribbling: You activate the “Controlled Sprint” by pressing the R1/RB button while steering your direction with the left stick. Then you just need some practice to get into the new movement pattern and effectively maneuver around opponents.

4. Get acquainted with precise, manual shots
Newly added in EA FC 24 is “Precision Shooting”, which you can enable or disable in the gameplay settings. Simply set the “Shot Assistance” to “Precision”.
Now you can determine much more accurately where your shot should land in the goal. This leads to significantly more control and accuracy in shots on goal – however, it takes some mastering. Because really easy precise shots are not simple at the beginning and it is quite possible to miss simple shots entirely.
But after enough training, the precise shots should work much better and give you a real advantage. It’s also helpful to activate the movement indicator in the settings so you can better see where you are actually aiming when shooting.
5. Be sure to check out the new training arena
To properly learn all the previous tips, you can utilize the significantly upgraded training arena. This has become much more extensive compared to the FIFA installments of previous years, offering you the opportunity to train various scenarios.
You can set up as many teammates and opponents as you want on an empty field, establish the rules, and practice gameplay, passes, shots, free kicks, and even conduct real training matches.
So taking a look at the new training arena is definitely worth it.
