EA confirms fears: As GameSpot US reports, Electronic Arts confirms that the two modes, Career and Pro Club, remain practically unchanged in FIFA 19.
This is exactly what fans feared after first leaks: The two modes are regarded as fan favorites that chronically receive too little attention from Electronic Arts. Players have created long wish lists for the Pro Club, but EA seems unable to fulfill the wishes even with FIFA 19.
What is EA doing instead? EA focuses on the Story Mode “The Journey” and the cash cow “FIFA Ultimate Team.” The new feature “Kick Off”, the kickoff mode, will also be expanded. These three areas are where EA focuses its efforts.
What does EA say? Lead Gameplay Producer Sam Rivera says to GameSpot:
“In the Career Mode, we decided to make the Champions League 100% authentic. When the Champions League is played, everything changes. There is a reskin. That was our highest priority.”
“But we listen to our fans. They had expected more things, bigger things for the Career Mode and the Pro Club. We are currently discussing what we can add in the future. We know that it’s a very passionate community. But for now, that’s all we can say about the two modes. We are having discussions, we are listening to the community to see what we can bring to these modes.”
These are the tiny changes in FIFA 19 in Career Mode
Changes in Career Mode: During the course of the interview, three new things for the Career Mode of FIFA 19 were confirmed:
- There are new cutscenes for the locker room
- The “Ultimate” difficulty, which was previously only in FUT, comes to the Career Mode
- And the club emblem receives a star when the club wins the Champions League

Practically nothing is changing in Pro Club in FIFA 19
Pro Club without Champions League: Even though Career Mode includes the Champions League, the Pro Club mode will have to do without it. However, the other licensed leagues will be available.
No further changes are known for Pro Club mode that would be new in FIFA 19.
