Electronic Arts (EA) has announced that the publisher’s games will soon be available on Steam. You will even be able to use EA Access on Steam in the future. However, for the larger multiplayer online games, you’ll have to wait: FIFA 20, Apex Legends, and Battlefield 5 are coming to Steam, but not until 2020.
When will the first EA games come to Steam? The new game “Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order” is expected to be the first EA game sold on Steam since 2013. For years, PC games have typically landed in the Origin library.
Other games like Sims 4 and Unravel 2 are expected to follow in 2019.
However, the big multiplayer online games such as:
are only planned for 2020. In spring, there should be a larger number of EA games available on Steam.

Why is EA going to Steam? EA Senior VP Mike Blank stated to GamesIndustry.biz the reasons why the games are now set to appear on Steam:
- Since the release of Origin, more gaming services have emerged, which should actually be good for gamers.
- However, the many platforms have made it harder for players.
- From EA’s perspective, they want to make it easier for players. Making games available on Steam is intended to help break down these barriers.
Large game catalog planned for Steam
How does EA Access work on Steam? Just like on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, EA Access provides access to a selection of EA games. Which titles will appear and how far back they go is currently unknown.
Mike Blank said:
I can’t say exactly which games and when [will appear on Steam]. I expect you’ll see a great catalog of content coming to Steam, and I’ll leave it at that.
What about the benefits? The special benefits of EA Access, such as:
- 10% discount on certain offers
- Early access to new EA games
- A huge game library
should be identical on Steam to Xbox or PS4. Third-party games on Origin, such as Darksiders 3, however, will not be transferring to Steam.

When will EA Access be available on Steam? The release of the EA subscription on Steam is planned for spring 2020. The cost is expected to be the same as Origin: $4.99 per month or $29.99 per year.
The prominent access on Steam could initiate a new round in the battle with Epic Games.
