The subscription service EA Access is coming soon to Sony’s PS4. But what kind of service is this? And what does it offer players?
EA Access is coming to PlayStation 4: This is what numerous players have been waiting for. As Electronic Arts has recently announced, their in-house service EA Access will soon be available on the PS4.
This service has already been available on Xbox for 5 years. Until now, Sony has resisted this service.
When is it happening? EA and Sony did not mention a specific date, but it should finally happen in July.
EA Access on PS4 – What You Need to Know
What is EA Access anyway? It is a paid subscription service for video games from Electronic Arts.
With this, you can play numerous EA games from a large collection of various titles or test some new games before their release. Additionally, you get a discount when purchasing games from Electronic Arts.
How does EA Access work exactly? You pay a monthly or annual fee and in return, you can use the digital service without restrictions. As long as you have an active membership, you can download and play the entire digital game collection unlimited on your PS4.
This game library, also known as Vault, is constantly being expanded. Except in exceptional cases, no games are removed from the Vault.
How much does EA Access on PS4 cost and how can I subscribe? EA Access will offer two different options on PlayStation 4 as well.
- Monthly, this service will cost you €3.99
- If you opt for an annual membership, it will be €24.99
You can terminate the membership at any time. On the PS4, you will be able to subscribe to EA Access directly through the PlayStation Store.
The membership on PS4 is handled separately from Xbox One. If you already have an account for this platform, you will have to pay extra for EA Access on PS4.
What does EA Access specifically offer me as a player?
Some players may wonder now: What does this service offer me exactly? After all, there are additional costs involved. Is it even worth it?
The answer is – it depends. Depending on personal preferences and interests, EA Access offers quite a few advantages for the monthly fee that are worth a closer look.
Many games for little money: Essentially, EA Access is a kind of flat rate for games. If you enjoy playing sports games from EA and are interested in other titles from the publisher, it might be worth checking out the service.
