This Sunday, players had to wait until 10 PM German time to catch Microsoft’s press conference for the E3 2019. There were updates on Xbox Scarlett, Cyberpunk, and Elden Ring. We summarize the highlights for you.
That was the press conference: After Electronic Arts had already made an appearance at E3 2019, Microsoft followed suit. As with other studios and publishers, there were small leaks before the actual presentation. However, most of the new information remained under wraps.
We briefly summarize the highlights of the evening for you.
- The upcoming next-gen Xbox is four times more powerful than the Xbox One X and is set to debut in Christmas 2020.
- Halo Infinite is one of the launch titles for the new console.
- There was a dark trailer for Elden Ring, the game from the creators of Dark Souls and George R.R. Martin.
- A new trailer featuring Keanu Reeves was shown for Cyberpunk 2077.
- Phantasy Star Online 2, a hit MMORPG from Japan, is coming to Xbox One.
- With Crossfire X, the “Counter-Strike of Asia” is coming to the West.

The Microsoft press conference for E3 took place on June 9. The presentation started at 10 PM German time. Here are the key news from the evening.
Cyberpunk 2077
What is Cyberpunk 2077? Cyberpunk 2077 is the next title from the Polish developers at CD Projekt RED. It is said to be based on the pen-and-paper game Cyberpunk 2020.
As with E3 2018, there was a new trailer for the title this year, in which even movie star Keanu Reeves had an appearance. He later also appeared on stage and officially announced the release date during the presentation.
When will it be released? Cyberpunk 2077 will be released on April 16, 2020. You can find more information about the title from the E3 presentation here.
Elden Ring
What is Elden Ring? Elden Ring is the new game from the studio FromSoftware, which had also leaked before the presentation. It is a fantasy action-adventure by Hidetaka Miyazaki, the mind behind the Dark Souls series.
The development was supported by none other than George R.R. Martin, the author of “A Song of Ice and Fire,” which is the basis of the hit series Game of Thrones.
When will it be released? Unfortunately, the trailer did not reveal a release date. The action RPG is set to appear on PS4, Xbox One, and PC.

Next-Gen Xbox Project Scarlett
What is Project Scarlett? The next-generation Xbox is being developed under the codename Project Scarlett. The console was presented as such at the E3 presentation.
Project Scarlett will have four times the data processing power compared to the Xbox One and will feature:
- Up to 120 FPS
- Ray Tracing
- Latest Zen-2 and Navi technology
- New SSD generation – Will be used as Virtual RAM
When will the Xbox be released? The release date for the next-gen Xbox is set for Christmas 2020.

Halo Infinite
What is Halo Infinite? Halo Infinite will be the new chapter of the Halo series and will once again focus on Master Chief. In the predecessor, Chief had to share the spotlight with Jameson Locke, which did not resonate well with fans.
However, fans had to do without a gameplay trailer this year as well. Only a cinematic trailer was shown, featuring a destroyed ring world.
When will it be released? No exact release date was given for Halo Infinite either. However, the title is expected to be one of the launch titles for Project Scarlett and will likely also be released in Christmas 2020.

Gears 5
What is Gears 5? With Gears 5, the Gears of War series continues. However, not much was shown about the game. Instead, the co-op mode “Escape” was introduced, where players compete against other human players in asymmetrical PvP.
When will it be released? Gears 5 is set to be released on September 10 for Xbox One and PC. It will also be included in the Game Pass for both platforms. Owners of the Game Pass can start playing on September 6.

Phantasy Star Online 2
What is Phantasy Star Online 2? Phantasy Star Online 2 is finally coming to the West after six years. The sequel to the first Phantasy Star Online MMORPG was released back in July 2012 in Japan.
PSO2 will be released for Xbox One and PC. There will also be crossplay between the platforms.
The game will be Free2Play, but will also have a premium service.
When will it be released? The MMORPG Phantasy Star Online 2 is expected to be released in Spring 2020.

Crossfire X
What is Crossfire X? Crossfire is one of the biggest shooters in Asia and was released there in 2009. Now, the “Counter-Strike of Asia” will be released as Crossfire X for Xbox One.
However, no real gameplay scenes were shown here either. So it cannot yet be said how much Crossfire X will differ from the game released in 2009.
When will it be released? A rough release date for this game has also been set for 2020.
