We present 6 online shooters to be showcased at E3 2018. Among them are highly anticipated titles like Anthem or sequels to famous series like Battlefield and Call of Duty.
What can we expect for each title at E3?
Anthem
What is Anthem? Anthem is a shared-world shooter like Destiny from BioWare.
What can we expect at E3 for Anthem? A new trailer for Anthem will be released at E3. According to EA, the trailer is supposed to showcase new characters and monsters from Anthem. Furthermore, we will get a deeper insight into the combat system and the Javelin exosuits.
Battlefield V
What is Battlefield V? The next installment of the Battlefield series, Battlefield V, will be released on October 19, 2018, and will focus on World War II. The reveal trailer for Battlefield V has strongly polarized audiences, as some found the trailer just too “colorful” for a World War II game, and the woman soldier with a robotic arm was viewed with skepticism. However, Battlefield V will bring significant gameplay innovations, such as bullets and tanks that can break through walls, or a new movement system.
What can we expect at E3 for Battlefield V? The shooter is one of the biggest titles that EA will release soon. It is expected that Battlefield V will be presented extensively. It will be possible to play the first-person shooter during E3, so we can expect initial impressions from fans.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 4
What is Call of Duty: Black Ops 4? On May 17, Call of Duty was officially unveiled. During the reveal, the developers talked about three different gameplay modes of Black Ops 4: Multiplayer, Zombies, and Blackout. In Multiplayer, you can expect tactical combat with specialists. The Zombie mode in Black Ops 4 brings new stories for the new characters. Blackout is the “Call of Duty-style” battle royale mode.
What can we expect at E3 for Call of Duty: Black Ops 4? We can expect to see even more of the various multiplayer features such as the Blackout matches that resemble battle royale. Treyarch focused on this in their previous presentations. Furthermore, the multiplayer mode will be playable at E3. However, fans would appreciate more information about a possible solo campaign.
Destiny 2
What is Destiny 2? Destiny 2 is a multiplayer online shooter with MMO elements from Bungie. Destiny is especially known for its excellent gunplay. While the guardians in the first part of Destiny could withstand all dangers, things look grim at the start of part 2. The Cabal, a race of highly militarized space turtles, have invaded and laid waste to the Last City of humanity. However, the sequel to Destiny 1 has received a lot of criticism from the community in the last months.
What can we expect at E3 for Destiny 2? There will be more information about the recently announced expansion “Forsaken”. Bungie wants to present more of the story to the fans. During E3, the new multiplayer mode “Gambit” will also be playable. The mode will be a PvE/PvP hybrid.
Fallout 76
What is Fallout 76? After many speculations about a Fallout 5, it seems that Fallout 76 is now a spin-off of the popular series. Allegedly, Fallout 76 will be some kind of online game. However, these are still rumors for the moment.
What can we expect at E3 for Fallout 76? It is assumed that Bethesda will generally reveal more about the title. A reveal trailer would not be unlikely.
The Division 2
What is The Division 2? The Division 2 is the sequel to the post-apocalyptic MMO shooter Tom Clancy’s The Division. The sequel is said to be a mega project with over 1000 employees who have been working on part 2 since 2016. The Division 2 will run on an updated Snowdrop engine and is expected to have a lot of content ready for players at launch compared to its predecessor.
What can we expect at E3 for The Division 2? Ubisoft wanted to keep information under wraps until E3. It is already known that The Division 2 will be released by March 31, 2019. Ideally, we will see the first trailers and also first gameplay. There is a high chance that there will be a “big reveal” even though new information has been scarce so far.
