As in its predecessor, you can also discover safes in Dying Light 2, which contain rare resources and more. MeinMMO reveals where you can find the safes and which combinations you need to open them.
Update, March 4, 2022: We have added new safes and codes. Thanks to all community members for the help!
What are safes? You can find the small lockers scattered all over the world of Dying Light 2. In them, you discover useful and rare items such as inhibitors or even powerful throwing weapons like grenades.
If you are directly looking for inhibitors, you can find their locations in our guide: How to find inhibitor containers and improve your strength and stamina.
Safes can also contain collectibles such as tape recordings. Most safes can be discovered during a quest by taking a small detour. However, some are simply hidden in buildings. To open them, you first need the appropriate code.
Where can I find the safes? There are several locations on the map where safes are located, both in Old Villedor and in the Central Loop. You will always find them in houses, usually quite obviously on desks, which are often slightly off to the side.
All locations can be found here on the map:

Keep in mind that you usually need to enter one of the shown houses. If you don’t find anything right away, use your survival sense and look for containers nearby. The entrances are not always on the street, but may also be on roofs or require you to climb through windows.

How do I find the codes? If you want to solve it yourself, you can usually find the clues to the combinations close by.

If more safes and combinations are found, we will of course update the list here immediately.
How do I enter the code? The safes are equipped with rotary locks, which means they have a different mechanism than you might know from combination locks or lockpicks. You need to turn the rotary lock in one direction and set it to the individual numbers.
Each number must be set one after the other and then confirmed. The order of input does not matter. If you have entered the correct combination, you can open the safe and take out its contents.
It is likely that more secrets and possibly additional safes will come to Dying Light 2 in the future. The developers have already released a roadmap for the next 5 years:
