Brutal zombie adventure with story background
Why should I check out Dying Light? The action RPG relies on brutal fights, endless hordes of zombies, and incorporates survival mechanics. All this happens in a large open world that you unlock gradually.
Dying Light, however, does not only rely on its shock effects and its diverse open world. The story aims to motivate you to learn more about the world and its people who are living on the brink of existence in the apocalypse.
Exploration, resource runs, and extravagant parkour maneuvers ensure that you won’t get bored. And when darkness falls, the peace is over anyway.
Moreover, you can experience almost the entire story, yes, the entire game in co-op mode. While completed quests only count for the party leader, teammates can level up their characters and keep the loot and bring it into their own save.
In our podcast on MeinMMO, we also discussed Dying Light 2 and talked about other exciting shooter releases:
Why might it not be for me? Dying Light 2 takes little consideration for gentle souls and displays brutal combat sequences with zombies and humans. The cut German version does not allow you to do quite as nasty things to human NPCs, but the game remains very brutal.
Additionally, you often find yourself in asymmetrical fights where you are at such a disadvantage that you have to flee. This can occasionally put you under a lot of pressure, which can be off-putting for some players.
If you want to play in co-op, you should also check beforehand whether you can actually play with your friends. For that, you need the right version and platform.
Dying Light 2 has taken a lot from the first part of the series and polished the mechanics. If you loved the first part, you can confidently grab part 2.
