The release of Dying Light 2: Stay Human is just around the corner, but developer Techland already has big plans for the future. What those are and what you can expect, you can see here in the overview on MeinMMO.
What is Dying Light 2? Dying Light 2 is the direct sequel to the first part, but it has a new setting. Instead of Rio de Janeiro, the new survival title takes you to a fictional setting. In the game, you rely on melee combat and firearms to defend yourself against zombies.
The game features a story campaign and also has a co-op mode. According to the developers, the game is supposed to offer an incredible 500 hours of gameplay right from the start. Additionally, more DLCs are supposed to follow after release.
What you can expect has already been partially revealed by the creators of the survival game in a roadmap that outlines the planned content in the months following the release. Here is an overview of the planned content for 2022.
The roadmap for Dying Light 2 for 2022
What to expect in the coming months: The first roadmap for Dying Light 2 extends until June. By then, you can expect a mix of different content:
- February: Several free DLCs related to the factions of the survival game. Judging by the image, they are outfits and weapons.
- March: Challenge Set 1, there are no further details available yet. If they are like in the predecessor, they will consist of various activities and challenges in the open world.
- April: Series of Events (Mutated Infected) – Similar events were featured in the first part. The community was able to unlock special rewards in the form of unique weapons or equipment through these events.
- May: Here comes Challenge Set 2.
- June: The first story DLC.
How much do the DLCs cost? Aside from the story DLC, the content will be released for free until June. Those who order the Deluxe Edition will also receive the first story DLC for free.
You can take a look at this again in an image:

Dying Light 2 is set to receive content for 5 years
What comes after? According to official sources, the first roadmap is only a preview, as Techland apparently wants to support Dying Light 2 until 2027. This means it will be provided with new content for around 5 years.
These contents are yet to follow:
- A second story DLC
- New weapons
- New enemies
- New stories
- New events
- Free and paid DLCs
What exactly could you expect? We still do not know what the contents will ultimately look like. However, judging by the predecessor, which is unfortunately indexed in Germany, the story DLCs should be particularly interesting, along with smaller content.
After all, Dying Light has been supplied with various new content over the years and even received an additional map.
Techland has experience with long-term support for such an open-world game, and the larger DLCs were well received by players.
By the way: Those who order the Ultimate Edition will also receive the second story DLC for free.
Dying Light 2 will be released on February 4 for PC, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, PS5, and PS4. However, in Germany, the game will be released in a censored version.
This is at least progress, as the first part is still not available here. You can learn how it plays in our preview of Dying Light 2 by MeinMMO author Tarek Zehrer.
