The developers of D&D: Dark Alliance have announced that a new AAA game in the Dungeons and Dragons universe is in development. According to a rumor, it could be like The Witcher.
What kind of game is this? The new game is a currently developing AAA title that is supposed to be based on the Dungeons and Dragons universe. The fantasy game is being developed by Invoke Studios using Unreal Engine 5.
Invoke Studios is part of the American publisher Wizards of the Coast, who are behind games like Magic: The Gathering and Magic Spellslingers. (via company.wizards.com)

Rumor: Open-world and fantasy RPG is “a safe bet”
What is this rumor? The American online magazine Polygon.com states in a report, “an open-world fantasy RPG in the style of The Witcher or Dragon Age seems to be a safe bet”.
If the rumor is true, the D&D game would be a fantasy RPG set in an open world. However, as of now, the rumor is merely speculation. There is currently no official information about the game or how it will be structured.
However, the experience of Dominic Guay, Vice President and General Manager of Invoke Studios, supports the rumor. Dominic Guay is a veteran in the gaming industry and has worked for Ubisoft Montreal for 20 years. There, he was involved as a project manager and senior producer in Watch Dogs 1 and 2 (via LinkedIn) – he is therefore familiar with open-world games.
What do we know about the release? Similar to the general concept and design of the game, we currently have no information about the planned release.
