Umberlee, Goddess of the Sea

Domain: Storm
Alignment: Chaotic-Evil
The goddess Umberlee is primarily worshiped due to the terror she instills in seafarers and those who cross the sea. She is often referred to as the “Bitch Queen,” Mother of Waves, or Queen of the Depths.
She is regarded as a particularly malicious, petty, greedy, and vain deity who controls the rough seas and allows everything and everyone to drown at her whim. She is also in conflict with Selûne and other openly good deities.
Among her followers are mainly those who fear her but are dependent on her favor. Some druids worship her because she represents nature in its most brutal form. Kraken, Sahagin, water genasi, and other evil water beings also follow her out of respect and admiration.
She places few demands on her followers, except that they worship her and spread fear and terror in her name. Those who wish to indulge in the open, wild sea should treat her well or prepare for her whims.
In Baldur’s Gate 3, you can find some of her followers in her temple, who align themselves favorably with the merchants of the city. Her symbol consists of waves curling to the left and right.
