Dungeons & Dragons (D&D) is the most well-known pen-and-paper role-playing system where players jointly experience adventures and create a story. A game master (Dungeon Master) guides through the world, while dice rolls determine success or failure. D&D is characterized by creative freedom, thrilling combat, and social interaction. Each adventure is unique, as players determine the course of the story themselves. The stories usually take place in a multiverse created by various books and can be utilized or adapted at will by the game masters. The books include extensive rule sets as well as pre-made adventures.
