In Dune: Awakening, the developers have recently announced a new patch that will shut down the servers and bring a sandstorm that causes significant changes in the game.
What kind of patch is this? The developers of Dune: Awakening have announced a new patch. For this, they will shut down the servers on June 10 at 09:00 AM CEST (07:00 AM UTC | 12:00 AM PDT). The maintenance is expected to take about 2 hours. Therefore, the servers should be live again by 11:00 AM CEST (09:00 AM UTC | 02:00 AM PDT).
What exactly the developers will change with the patch is still unclear. The patch notes are currently only published by Funcom when the servers are back online.

Coriolis Storm Brings New Map
What kind of sandstorm is this? In Dune: Awakening, the great Coriolis storm sweeps through the desert for the first time on Tuesday morning. This sandstorm is the game mechanic that announces the weekly reset of the endgame PvP area Deep Desert. The sandstorm was originally supposed to come at a different time, but the developers have brought it forward to coincide with today’s maintenance.
Once a week, the endgame area Deep Desert is hit by this sandstorm and changed. When players return to the servers after maintenance on Tuesday, they will find a completely new endgame area. There will be new dungeons, places for materials, and wrecks that are also located in new areas. The desert will therefore be completely reset.
Anyone who logged out in the Deep Desert or built a base there will lose their character and/or dwelling with the reset. Therefore, the developers recommend players to pack their materials and valuables before each storm and take them to the Hagga Basin. There, they are protected and unaffected.
On Tuesday morning, after the reset, a new week in the in-game politics system Landsraad will also begin. Here, players will again have the opportunity to accumulate power to pass new laws in favor of Atreides or Harkonnen after the reset.
