For Dune: Awakening, there is a season pass that will provide brand new content until the upcoming year 2026. However, the package is not very well received by players on Steam.
What do I need to know about the season pass? The season pass for Dune: Awakening is part of the more expensive Deluxe or Ultimate versions or can be purchased separately for just under 25 euros. Through the season pass, you gain access to the following 4 DLCs:
- Wildlife of Arrakis: Decorate your base with statues of Shai-Hulud and other creatures living on Arrakis, already live.
- Lost Harvest: A stranded harvester. A desperate crew. A secret buried for more than ten thousand years. Expected to release between October and December 2025.
- Raiders of the Broken Lands: The Broken Lands form an extensive stone desert where ruthless raiders roam. Expected to release between January and March 2026.
- The Water Wars: Water is life. The families of the water shippers fight in a bloody war for control over the polar caps of Arrakis. Expected to release between April and June 2026.

“That’s just absurd”
How is the season pass received in the community? While Dune: Awakening currently has 87 percent positive reviews on Steam, the season pass has a dismal 38 percent positive rating on Steam (“Mostly Negative”). Many players currently criticize especially the quality of the first DLC that has already been released.
- Surakor writes on Steam: “Offering four statues as the first DLC is just absurd.”
- FullMetalPanic agrees on Steam: “I cannot recommend the season pass in its current form. Only four statues as the first drop is very meager. The offer should be more extensive in the future. If it gets better in the future, I will change my review… The base game is great. I cannot recommend the season pass.”
- Camsinn expects more on Steam: “A set of statues is not downloadable content that we should pay for. New locations, new stories, side stories, main stories – that’s what I would pay for, but since this is a game I have already paid for, I wouldn’t expect to have to pay more.”
Diverse players are especially bothered that this small cosmetic package is being sold as full-fledged DLC, but they expect more from it. What do you think? Is the outrage justified? Let us know in the comments!
