Dune: Awakening will soon let its fans play on the servers, but before players decide to purchase, they want to know what the critics have to say about the game on Metacritic. When you can expect the first reviews, you can find out here.
When can you expect reviews? Currently, there are no reviews on Metacritic. Neither fans nor critics were allowed to play the game beforehand. It will ultimately result in the first opinions about the MMO appearing during the Early Access on June 5 at 16:00.
However, expect some delays as players will need to test the game for a few hours before forming a well-founded opinion about it.
Opinions from the Beta: How Good is Dune Awakening?
Our MeinMMO author Cedric Holmeier was allowed to play the beta of Dune Awakening and report on what the game has to offer you. For him, the game was fun. There is plenty to loot, many dangers lurking, and overall, the game feels like a relaxed MMO. Regarding the MMORPG aspect, our expert is skeptical. For hardcore PvP and PvE players, the game might not be suitable; the focus is more on collecting items, trading, and housing.
Also, IGN initially reports positively about the game. Dune Awakening is especially fun in co-op, as you can loot strategically together and fight enemies. The game also places a high value on immersion, which is why water is considered one of the most important resources. One of the things that IGN criticizes, however, are bugs and performance issues that the team needs to iron out before the release.
Lastly, TooMuchGaming also reports on their first impressions. For them, the combat system feels too repetitive. It always comes down to the same situations where ranged fighters have to face melee fighters. Additionally, the character development feels too superficial. You can level various skills, but they didn’t leave a significant impression. What they praise, however, is the base building and the start into the MMO.
