Every week, the world of Dune: Awakening goes through a cycle where the destructive Coriolis storms and the Landsraad elections play an essential role.
What are Coriolis storms? Coriolis storms appear once a week in Dune: Awakening, destroying everything in the Deep Desert and then reshaping the regions of the endgame zone. All areas of the Hagga Basin and the two capitals of the Harkonnen and Atreides are not affected by the storms.
What is the Landsraad election? The Landsraad is a powerful political alliance of the great noble families within the Empire. In Dune: Awakening, the Landsraad consists of 25 houses, whose representatives you can meet in the game, and for which you must complete tasks as part of a guild once a week to influence the regularly held election.
The faction that can win the election is allowed to determine an active decree for the upcoming week. Such a decree might be that one of several possible traders becomes available to the winning faction, selling special recipes and some of the best items in the game.
All further details about the politics can be found here: Dune: Awakening Landsraad, factions, and guilds – what you need to know about Atreides vs. Harkonnen
