The developers of Dune: Awakening have revealed exciting statistics about the enormously successful launch of the survival MMO. MeinMMO summarizes the most important points for you.
How successful is Dune: Awakening? According to the developers, around 1 million players have ventured to Arrakis so far. This is not only a pleasing result for Funcom considering the purchase price of at least 49.99 euros. Never before has a game from the Norwegian developers launched so successfully.
For comparison: The also successful Conan Exiles managed to reach this milestone only after a year. Neither The Secret World, Anarchy Online, nor Age of Conan achieved this.

What else has Funcom revealed? The announcement about player numbers is accompanied by many other statistics. Here’s a selection:
- The sandworms are the deadliest danger, having stripped more than 816,000 survivors to their underwear.
- For comparison: The also dangerous sandstorms have only caught 66,883 characters.
- The most popular class is the Bene Gesserit (31 percent). The Mentat is the least chosen (20 percent). Swordmaster and Trooper are almost tied – 25 versus 24 percent.
- More than 517,000 ornithopters are flying over the sands of Arrakis.
- There are 121,941 guilds in the game.
- 101,259 players have crafted a crys knife from a sandworm tooth.
- There are players who are obtaining the blood of the adorable desert mouse Muad’Dib. 56,253 ml have been extracted so far.
