Dual Universe: Gameplay – New video shows a character’s journey through the vast universe

With Dual Universe, an interesting MMORPG is currently in development.

The game features a large galaxy consisting of several planets. Players will be able to travel seamlessly between worlds and space. The sandbox offers a lot of freedom. Players will be able to build entire cities and develop spaceships. The entire economic system in the game is intended to be managed by the players. Space battles, fights on planets, and hero development are also part of it.

Manipulable Planets in Pre-Alpha Gameplay

The developers have now released a new gameplay video lasting approximately 11 minutes showcasing the Pre-Alpha of the game. It shows the journey of a hero. He starts on a planet and wanders through a forest. The landscapes of the planets are procedurally generated, but they look quite good. Further explanations on how to create and populate the planets are planned for a future video. The hero now wanders from the forest to a meadow where a spaceship is standing. Before he boards, he digs a hole in the ground to demonstrate that the landscapes will be manipulable. This will also help in gathering resources.

Finally, it is shown how some structures are created and the landscape is set. This is generally possible everywhere where there is enough space. This way, you can create houses and entire cities. Eventually, the character approaches the spaceship, modifies it, and boards. He takes off and flies through the air into space. There he lands on a huge space station that could already be seen from the ground. He walks around in the station, where the developers explain that the interior can also be fully customized.

A Huge Universe

As he finally looks out the window of the space station at the planet, the developer explains that even from this height, objects that are large enough can be recognized. For example, you can see forests, mountains, rivers, the sea, and a huge Ark-Ship. These ships represent the starting point of the heroes who awake in Ark-Ships and then explore and colonize the galaxy. Lastly, the hero boards his spaceship again and flies off into space while the planet gets smaller.

Dual Universe is expected to enter Closed Alpha in early 2017. There is currently no information available regarding a release.
