The controversial streamer DrDisrespect is in a kind of love-hate relationship with the game “PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds” (PUBG). The shooter made him a star on Twitch in 2017 – today he rants and rages live on the streaming platform against the shooter but cannot stay away from it.
That’s why PUBG is special for the Doc: 2017 was the year of PUBG and the year of Guy “DrDisrespect” Beahm.
- The relatively small Korean developer, Bluehole, known for MMORPGs, hired a modder and released his idea as a game. PUBG stormed the charts on Twitch and was a massive success on Steam.
- At the same time, the rise of “DrDisrespect” began, who, with a macho attitude, a powerful mustache, and a lovingly maintained persona, expressed his quirks and rages on Twitch.
Throughout 2017, the stars of PUBG and DrDisrespect rose, until it then cooled off somewhat at the end of the year, and in 2018, ultimately Fortnite and the kid-friendly Ninja took on their respective roles.
DrDisrespect and PUBG had issues at the end of 2017:
- DrDisrespect had cheated on his wife and took a break from Twitch.
- Bluehole, the creators of PUBG, were dreaming of Hollywood deals and huge influence on pop culture, but many bugs and problems were gnawing at the foundation of the shooter – plus, the Koreans already saw Fortnite coming out of the corner of their eyes and feared the worst.
Your game is so overrated!
This is how DrDisrespect sees PUBG today: The problem for DrDisrespect is that his once favorite game simply isn’t delivering for him anymore. In a recent clip, he angrily complains about PUBG. It’s poorly programmed and has terrible ping.
The developers aren’t doing anything for the game, they’re not developing it further, the updates do nothing – it’s all terrible. The Doctor falls into a rage. He even angrily demands that they should “remove his skins from the game.”
The hate for PUBG is part of the program
Does he do this often? This has become a known game. In a Twitch stream, DrDisrespect angrily uninstalls PUBG, only to be “caught” at the end of the Twitch stream “accidentally installing it again.”
This was the latest: In the latest Twitch clip, DrDisrespect apparently falls asleep while securing a victory in PUBG. The last opponent dies in the death zone.

What’s behind this? DrDisrespect is waiting, like many players, for a new strong shooter. In fall 2018, he thought he had found it with CoD: Black Ops 4 and the Blackout mode. But the love didn’t last long.
The streamer has now tried everything and has something to criticize in every game, whether it be Battlefield 5 Firestorm, Apex Legends (is like a demo) or Fortnite (softens the kids). Therefore, he keeps coming back to PUBG. The viewers seem to like it.
DrDisrespect entertains the fans with the “Triple Threat” challenge, where he tries to secure a victory in three of these games he has harshly criticized.
