The streamer DrDisrespect brought up an idea for the Gulag in Call of Duty: Warzone. Players discussed it fervently afterwards.
This was the idea: DrDisrespect suggested that one could buy an extra round in the Gulag. He named a price of $20,000, which one would have to earn in the Battle Royale beforehand.
He himself referred to the idea as a “multi-million-dollar idea” and was convinced of it. The clip made the rounds and numerous players discussed it. Is such a purchase reasonable?
Buy another round in the Gulag?
This is how it works so far: If you get eliminated in the Warzone for the first time, you end up in the Gulag. There you meet another eliminated opponent. In a 1-on-1, you compete, and the winner gets to return to the game.
However, you only get the chance in the Gulag once. If you lose the 1-on-1, you are out of the game, and if you get eliminated again, you are also out. The exception is if a teammate buys a resurrection.
This could bring the change: If it were actually possible to buy another attempt in the Gulag, it would change a lot in the game. You could play a bit more aggressively, since after all you still have a chance, and especially solo players might take more risks. They cannot benefit from a resurrection and can only come back through the Gulag.
After all, with the resurrection by a teammate, there is a similar purchasable item that is quite popular. Something comparable for solo players could be well received.
What do fans say about it? The viewers in the stream, but also players afterwards on Twitter, have divided opinions. Numerous players say that one could just join another game instead, once eliminated. Especially as a solo player, you are not necessarily tied to a round.
Other players think that a round of Warzone already lasts a long time and this would only drag it out further.
Still, other players believe that while the idea is good, the price is too high. They rather suggest $10,000, as there is no guarantee that you will win the Gulag.
