Shortly before the weekend, the Infernum management published an Open Letter to the community of Dragon’s Prophet. Among the usual thanks to the player base and announcements for the future, there was a quite exciting paragraph:
Regardless of further developments, one topic that is particularly close to our hearts and also to yours is the shop. We face the challenging task every day of providing you with a fair gaming experience. It must, of course, be ensured at all times that both further development and operation (servers, traffic, personnel, etc.) can be financed. A special thanks goes to all of our paying players, because without you both would not be possible. For this reason, we have decided to develop a special VIP system.
More detailed information will follow in the coming weeks, but the community’s reactions are already divided. Of course, the game has to somehow pay for itself, but the question of how far Dragon’s Prophet will become Pay to Win is also up in the air. Whether there will be a proper subscription system or whether paying players will only receive permanent bonuses has not been announced further.
However, the following changes and plans for the coming weeks and months are already confirmed:
- The Nucleus of Time – the new raid dungeon – will be released soon.
- There will be further adjustments to the Citadel Wars and PvP to make these aspects of the game more interesting.
- The mastery system will be thoroughly revamped.
- There will be more opportunities for treasure hunters.
- You can become a dragon mom or dad.
- The dragon arena will be expanded.
- The starting area will be changed again to be more beginner-friendly.
What do you think of the upcoming changes – and especially the idea of a VIP system?
