Those who want to use fast travel in Dragon’s Dogma 2 must navigate to one of the predetermined points in the game world. Alternatively, they can use their own target crystals, which they can individually spread throughout the game world. We explain where to find target crystals without spending real money.
What are target crystals? Dragon’s Dogma 2 has a unique approach to fast travel. As the game director Hideaki Itsuno announced before the release, the developers wanted to create a game world that can exist without fast travel.
It should be so exciting that players don’t even consider fast travel. However, in the final game, there are still various ways to travel from point A to point B in a matter of moments.
Among other things, through the fixed fast travel points. They are spread across various locations in the game world, such as in the larger cities.
If you want to create individual fast travel points, you need to use target crystals. This item is particularly rare at the beginning of the game.
You have the option to buy target crystals for real money. But that doesn’t have to be the case. Here are some alternatives.
How to get target crystals
How do you find the item? In the first hours of gameplay, you will receive a single target crystal from Captain Brant. After completing his quest “Feast of Deception,” you will receive a portable target crystal as a reward.
Also, after completing the quest “The Archery Challenge,” you will receive a copy of this item.
Can you buy target crystals in the game? Another opportunity opens up when you reach Battahl. There, you can visit the shrine at the bay and shop at the Dragon forger.
However, you will not exchange the valuable item for mere gold. For 20 Lindworm crystals, you receive one target crystal. To obtain Lindworm crystals, you need to defeat the dreaded half-dragons.
To use a target crystal, simply select “Use” in your inventory. However, target crystals cannot be placed everywhere; you must be outdoors to do so.
Additionally, only up to ten can be distributed in the game world; those placed by the developers are excluded from this limit.

Are there other options? As mentioned at the beginning, target crystals can also be purchased for real money. This was revealed by the developers only at the release. Among other things, you can buy a target crystal for 2.99 euros. Whether it’s worth it is up to you to decide.
What else should be noted? A single target crystal is not enough to use fast travel. You also need travel stones. You can obtain them from chests, buy them from merchants, or receive them as quest rewards. To fast travel, use a travel stone, throw it into the air, and get teleported. You can, of course, play Dragon’s Dogma 2 without spending real money; here we have an overview of that.
