In Dragon’s Dogma 2 there are many weapons, but not all will make you stronger. That’s why we show you three of the best weapons that can make your classes stronger right from the start.
For which classes are the weapons? In our listing, we will count three locations for weapons that you can equip for the various classes to deal a lot of damage. We will explain where you can find the weapons and which classes they are intended for. Additionally, we will also mention a bonus point that shows you a good weapon dealer for exotic classes.
Be aware that we can’t offer starter weapons for some classes because you can only unlock them later in the game – like the Illusionist. For archers, mages, and sorcerers (like the warrior which is unlockable early), we haven’t found any special starter weapons outside of standard merchants and quests yet.
1. Almace – Best starter sword for fighters
Where can I find the sword? You can find the sword at the checkpoint “Rest Town”. Once there, just head to the blacksmith. The blacksmith sells you the sword for 20,800 gold.
What is so special about the sword? The sword is permanently encased in frost and can freeze your enemies if you hit them often enough. Very useful against cold-blooded creatures like lizards.
2. Lifetaker – Best starter sword for warriors
Where can I find the sword? You can find the sword northwest of the large city Vernworth in the hell called “Collapsed Mine”. You can either walk the long march on foot or take an ox cart from Vernworth to the Borderwatch checkpoint, until you are stopped from proceeding by a monster near the cave. However, the boss does not always appear.
Now, go into the cave and look for a higher rock ledge that can be “impossible” to climb. To pull yourself up, you can either use a pawn that can boost you into the air or a chest nearby to grab the ledge with that elevation and pull yourself up.
Now approach the iron gate and destroy the wooden blockade. Kill the monster in the room and open the chest to get the great sword.
What is so special about the sword? The sword offers strong damage and can easily knock opponents off their feet. Additionally, you don’t need to spend any gold to obtain the blade. Money savers will be pleased.
3. Stilettos – Best starter daggers for thieves
Where can I find the daggers? You can find the daggers southeast of the Borderwatch Outpost. Follow the road until you discover a ruin near a river. Fight your way through until you find a chest in the rubble. The stilettos are hidden in the chest.
What is so special about the daggers? The stilettos offer good strength as starter equipment and can efficiently stun your opponents. Additionally, they can also be found and do not need to be purchased with gold.
4. Elven Blacksmith – Best dealer for exotic classes
Where can I find the dealer? This is the Elven Blacksmith from the checkpoint “Sacred Arbor”. This village is secluded, located northwest of Vernworth. It is important to know that you can only understand the local elves if you master their language.
The special pawns created by Capcom in the area can help you with this. They can translate for you and help you communicate with the locals. Or you can memorize the menu layout of a vendor and navigate through the options that way.
Why is he so good? The blacksmith of Arbor offers a high-quality selection of weapons for mages, sorcerers, magical archers, and regular archers. The only problem is the cost, as it is very high at this dealer.
