Dragon’s Dogma 2 promises to be the next big RPG hit. The excitement among some players is so great that they are already spending dozens of hours on the game.
What are the players doing all the time? They are spending it in the Character Creator, which Dragon’s Dogma 2 made available for preview last weekend. Players are already working diligently on their “Awakened” and their associated pawns to dive straight into the game world at release.
MeinMMO author Christoph says: Capcom did everything right by foregoing a traditional demo and releasing the Character Editor in advance.

What are the players saying? Reddit user Strange_Music shared his impressive “play” time of 27 hours in the subreddit for Dragon’s Dogma and wrote: “In my opinion, a brilliant move by the DD2 team. I am already 100% invested in my characters.”
Another user emphasizes how great it has been to have the Character Creator in advance: Otherwise, they might have rushed this important part of the game and only invested about 4 hours into it (via Reddit).
A user with 17.5 hours in the Character Creator jokes: “I had quite a lot of fun with it, but the endgame leaves something to be desired. I hope Capcom adds a story mode for DD3.” (via Reddit).
However, it seems one can also go overboard: A screenshot showing a playtime of more than 57 hours is met with just a “What the hell are you even doing at this point?” (via Reddit).
In the meantime, there is even a dedicated Subreddit called r/fashiondogma where players showcase their creations. There, you can get inspired if you want to give your own Awakened the final touches and ask the community for help in creating the perfect pawn.
