The team from Dragon Ball has several good news for fans. The best news is that the anime is finally continuing after an 8-year hiatus.
What was announced? Yesterday, the event “Dragon Ball Genkidamatsuri” took place in Japan. The 40th anniversary of Dragon Ball was celebrated, and there were some exciting announcements, as can be seen on the official page.
The biggest announcement is that the anime of Dragon Ball Super is continuing. The last episode was in 2018 with “Universe Survival Saga”. The anime picks up exactly at this point and continues with the “The Galactic Patrol Saga”. It is currently in production. It may take a while before it is available on streaming services.
In the first promo image, Vegeta and Goku are seen in their training uniforms. Each has the symbol of the Galactic Patrol on their armor’s chest. The emblem is also in the background, and both stand side by side with a serious expression.
Readers of the manga probably know the arc as the Galactic Patrol Prisoner Arc. In this arc, Goku and Vegeta must team up with the members of the Galactic Patrol. They are the peacekeepers of the galaxy. Together, they must face a gigantic battle against a new enemy, the planet devourer Moro.
Dragon Ball has more surprises in store
What else was announced? If you have missed the anime of Dragon Ball Super so far, that’s no problem. The entire previous anime is set to be restarted as a new project.
Under the name “Dragon Ball Super: Beerus”, there will be an extended version of the anime from Dragon Ball Super. The project started a few years ago.
By “extended”, the team means that there will be improved visual expressions in every scene, especially in the fight scenes. They are set to be even more immersive and to provide a detailed reproduction of the original work by manga artist Akira Toriyama.
There is also news from the gaming front. A new game is set to be released in 2027, featuring original characters. The game will include a completely new character, which was even drawn by Akira Toriyama himself before he passed away a few years ago. The project is under the name “Age 1000” and will feature even more unique characters.
Additionally, there will be a new DLC for Dragon Ball Sparking! Zero. The expansion will bring more playable characters, including Super Saiyan Bardock and Super Android 17 from Dragon Ball GT.
