The hero of Dragon Ball, Son Goku, has defeated numerous enemies throughout the anime. However, some of them have undergone a change of heart. MeinMMO presents you with 5 enemies of the Saiyan who became friends over time.
Son Goku is not known for his persuasive skills, but for his strength. Throughout the anime, he learns new techniques from various teachers that make him stronger. It’s no wonder that one would rather count the Saiyan among his friends than among his enemies.
Therefore, it has happened multiple times throughout Dragon Ball that an enemy switched sides and fought alongside Son Goku. Mein MMO lists a total of 5 characters who initially wanted to fight Son Goku but later stood up for the same goals as he did.
Piccolo
Why was he Son Goku’s enemy? Piccolo Junior is actually the son or reincarnation of the evil King Piccolo. His father was the evil side of God. He wanted to plunge the world into chaos, but fortunately, Son Goku killed him by punching a hole through his stomach.
Just seconds before his death, the evil King laid an egg. Inside was Piccolo Junior. His father gave him his only purpose in life: to take revenge on Son Goku and avenge his death.
What kind of change did he undergo? The change happened when Son Goku’s brother Radditz threatened Earth. Piccolo realized that his opponent was so strong that he couldn’t defeat him alone. Therefore, he forged an alliance with Goku to defeat Radditz.
Additionally, Piccolo later took care of Goku’s son, Son Gohan. Initially, he just wanted to train the little child as a warrior. Over time, however, a friendship developed between the two, and Piccolo became something like a surrogate father for Gohan. It also happened that Piccolo intercepted a blast to save Gohan and even sacrificed his life for the son of his archenemy.
