Silly poses paired with superhuman strength – this is the best way to describe the Ginyu Force, Frieza’s elite unit. It consists of five members who are clearly different from each other in appearance. However, the creator of Dragon Ball had drawn a sixth member, who unfortunately did not make it into the anime.
Who would have become the sixth member? The mangaka of Dragon Ball, Akira Toriyama, created a character for the video game Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot, who could have been part of the Ginyu Force. Her name is Bonyu, and aesthetically, she would fit well into the group.
She has red skin, white hair, and has a bit more on her hips than the other members of the Ginyu Force. She would have been the only woman in the group if she had stayed in it. Toriyama drew her appearance between 2018 and 2019:

Bonyu was indeed the first member of the Ginyu Force hired by Captain Ginyu. However, she decided to leave the group. The reason for this was the silly poses that the Ginyu Force strikes during their appearances.
Bonyu could not cope with the strange behavior. Therefore, she asked to leave the group. Instead, she became a soldier who remained loyal to Frieza.
Since she did not appear in the manga, she is not an official part of the story. However, it is easy to imagine that she did not want to participate in the silly posing and instead joined Frieza’s army.
In the latest Dragon Ball Super movie, the Namekian Piccolo takes center stage, alongside Son Goku’s son Son Gohan:
The Ginyu Force is Frieza’s elite squad
Who is the Ginyu Force? The Ginyu Force is part of Frieza’s army and is tasked with conquering planets. It consists of the following five elite soldiers:
- Guldo
- Recoom
- Jees
- Baara
- Ginyu
The group first appears during the Frieza Saga. They are summoned by Frieza to Planet Namek to eliminate Vegeta. They are also tasked with obtaining the Namekian Dragon Balls.
During the Majin Boo Saga, the elite unit can be seen in the afterlife, watching the fight between Kid Boo and Son Goku. Unfortunately, the group has no other notable appearances in the anime.
Frieza relies heavily on his elite unit and only assigns them the most important tasks. They are a significant support for the Emperor who wants to subjugate the universe.
By the way, Frieza could also have been a bit bulkier. Early sketches of the villain show him in a form that has never been seen in any Dragon Ball medium: A form of Frieza never made it into the Dragon Ball anime because it was so strange
