C18 is a human from Dragon Ball, who was transformed into a cyborg. She was actually meant to be even more fashion-conscious, as early sketches of her show.
Who is C18? C18 is one of the strongest female characters from Dragon Ball, even though she doesn’t rank in the top 5 strongest women. She made her debut alongside her brother C17 during Dragon Ball Z in the Cell Saga.
The cyborg was not always a robot, but was a human in her earlier life. She was kidnapped and modified by the evil scientist Dr. Gero. Her goal was to kill the protagonist Son-Goku to take revenge for the destruction of the Red Ribbon Army.
Over time, she transformed into a loyal friend of Son-Goku. To this day, she remains one of the most popular characters from the anime and is described by many as “the perfect waifu,” as seen in the following ranking on Reddit.
The creator of Dragon Ball, Akira Toriyama, initially planned to make the cyborg even more fashion-conscious. Recently surfaced sketches show how C18 would look as a fashion icon.
C18 as a Fashion-Conscious Woman
What kind of sketch is this? From the very beginning, C18 was regarded as a fashion-conscious woman. She always had a certain style and was one of the few characters in the series who frequently changed her outfits. The mangaka seemingly intended from the start to show her in different outfits, as his early sketches suggest.
The image, which is said to date back to 1992 (as reported on Dragon Ball Nao), shows her in various outfits. Sometimes she wears a dress, sometimes a parka with a very tight belt, and sometimes an oversized hoodie. On the official Dragon Ball site, the creators even list as trivia that the lady has a strong sense of fashion.
One of the sketches even made it to a real image. In the scene, C18 stops at a clothing store while searching for Goku and tries on clothes. She tells the store owner that she finds the clothes ugly.
However, since she was in the countryside at that time, she had no other choice but to take the clothes. They, however, left without paying.
There is another powerful woman in Dragon Ball. However, the creator eventually forgot that she even exists. This can happen with so many characters.
