In Dragon Age: The Veilguard you meet a number of companions, the Companions, who accompany you on your adventure. MeinMMO introduces the companions.
On October 31, 2024, Dragon Age: The Veilguard will be released and the developers from Bioware have now introduced all seven companions (in English: Companions) who can join you during your adventure.
MeinMMO will reveal to you below which heroes you will encounter and where you might already know them from. You will also learn – as far as known – the respective backstories, to which classes and races the warriors belong, and what romance options may be available.

The Companions
Lace (Borte) Harding
- Class: Scout
- Race: Dwarf
- Faction: once belonged to the Inquisition
- Known from: Dragon Age: Inquisition, DLCs Hakkon’s Fangs and The Descent, Dragon Age: The Missing (Comic)
The former chief scout of the Inquisition became a fan favorite in Dragon Age: Inquisition because she was always the one who greeted the hero cheerfully in a new zone. She hails from Ferelden, was once a shepherdess, and has a passion for singing and dancing. The dwarf suffers from acrophobia and once had a Mabari war dog named Contessa.
Davrin
- Class: Guardian
- Race: Dalish Elf
- Faction: Grey Wardens
- Known from: –
Davrin is a member of the Grey Wardens, an order that was once established to protect against the Darkspawn and has played a role in every Dragon Age installment. What rank Davrin holds within the order is unknown. However, it is clear that the charming warrior is accompanied by a baby griffon named Assan.
Bellara Lutare
- Class: Mage / Rogue
- Race: Dalish Elf
- Faction: Veilstriders
- Known from: –
Bellara belongs to the Veilstriders, who explore ancient elf ruins from the forest of Arlathan. She masters magic and uses a glove in combat that allows for easier manipulation of magic. If needed, the glove transforms into a hunting bow.

Taash
- Class: Dragon Hunter
- Race: Qunari (Kossith)
- Faction: Allies of the Masters of Fate
- Known from: –
Taash is a new character in the Dragon Age universe and, as a dragon hunter, has a connection to the Masters of Fate. She lives for adventure and isn’t afraid to challenge a dragon alone. In the trailer, the fighter wields two one-handed axes in battle.
Lucanis Dellamorte
- Class: Mage Slayer
- Race: male human
- Faction: Crows of Antiva
- Known from: Dragon Age: Tevinter Nights (Anthology) and the short story “The Wake” (via ea.com)
The master assassin is a member of the Crows of Antiva, much like Zevran Arainai (from Dragon Age: Origins). But not just any member. As the grandson of Caterina Dellamorte, the First Talon of the Crows, he holds a special position and is regarded as a contender for the assassin guild’s throne. He is described as cultured, focused, and pragmatic, but he lacks social skills.
Emmrich Volkarin
- Class: Necromancer
- Race: male human
- Faction: Mortalitasi mage from Nevarra’s Mourning Watch
- Known from: Dragon Age: Tevinter Nights (Anthology) and the short story “The Eternal Flame” (via ea.com)
The necromancer has been a member of the Mourning Watch for at least 30 years and protects the necropolis of Nevarra with his death magic. He is assisted by his skeleton assistant Manfred.
Neve Gallus
- Class: Detective
- Race: female human
- Faction: Rebellious Shadow Dragons of Tevinter
- Known from: Dragon Age: Tevinter Nights (Anthology) and Dragon Age: The Missing (Comic)
Neve Gallus fights for a better future (for example, the abolition of slavery), with cynical comments and her special skills as a private detective. She offers her services in Minrathous, the capital of the Tevinter Empire.
Interesting Facts about the Companions
How many companions can accompany me?
In Dragon Age: The Veilguard, you will learn to know up to seven different companions. Two of the companions may support you in battles. By comparison: In the three predecessors, you could still roam with three companions. In those, there were also eight to ten (partly tied to DLCs) potential allies to choose from.
Are romances with the companions possible?
In the new part of the Dragon Age series, free love is available for everyone. No matter what gender your alter ego has, all companions can enter into a relationship with you. It should also be possible for the companions to flirt with each other and give away their hearts.

The companions in The Veilguard have a kind of relationship level towards your character: Your decisions in the game and the conversations with the companions affect how much a companion likes or trusts you. This, in turn, unlocks dialogue options and talent points, with which you activate abilities for combat.
What is Dragon Age: The Veilguard? The game comes from the game studio Bioware. It is the fourth part of the main series after Dragon Age: Origins, Dragon Age 2, and Dragon Age: Inquisition.
