The controversial streamer Dr Disrespect is not allowed to stream the upcoming Call of Duty: Cold War before the release. Other streamers, however, can. The Doc sees this as a targeted devaluation and blames the Twitch ban for it.
What happened? Various well-known streamers received a so-called “Creator Code” from Activision. With this, they can freely play and stream the upcoming Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War in advance. Among them are famous streamers such as TimTheTatman and Nicmercs. The Doc, on the other hand, surprisingly received nothing.
This is all the more strange, as the Doc is especially famous for his streams of Call of Duty games, and he was also an official Call of Duty streamer for a long time. Therefore, the Doc sees no coincidence here, but rather a deliberate avoidance tactic by the publisher.
Is the Doc now damaged goods?
What does the Doc say about it? For Dr Disrespect, the issue likely stems from his Twitch ban. For seemingly no reason the popular streaming platform banned the Doc and thus crippled his basis for work. The Doc had to find a new home on YouTube, where he continues his activities. The official reasons for the ban are still unknown, but there is much speculation.
However, since the Doc feels he is being deliberately ignored by Activision, he sees this as a plan. They presumably want nothing more to do with him to avoid negative associations. The Doc then eventually stops, frustratedly staring into the camera, and goes back to killing in the Warzone. But it is clear that the Doc is visibly affected by it. While the other streamers are enjoying themselves in Cold War, he has no choice but to haunt Warzone.
On the other hand, it is still unclear what exactly lies behind the Doc’s ban, and Activision might know things that make it highly problematic from their perspective to remain associated with him. The Doc, on the other hand, still seems to have trouble accepting the ban. In a very emotional stream, he was quite clear about it.
