The streamer Guy “Dr Disrespect” Beahm has now explained on YouTube that he is not well. He is struggling with the permanent ban from Twitch. Everything he built has been taken from him without being given a reason. He suffers from it, and the panic attacks come in waves.
This is the situation:
- The streamer Dr Disrespect was one of the most successful and distinctive streamers on Twitch for years. He had 4.45 million followers there at the end and signed a multi-year exclusive contract in March 2020 that guaranteed him a lot of money.
- However, Twitch banned him at the end of June 2020 without giving any reasons and thus terminated the contract.
- Dr Disrespect now streams on YouTube without an exclusive contract and is successful there, but he has not gotten over his ban.
Dr Disrespect breaks character during the stream, becomes personal
This is what he says during the stream: At the end of his stream on August 31, Dr Disrespect takes a few minutes to talk to the viewers. During this time, he breaks out of the character he portrays as an entertainer.
Instead of acting grand and loud, he appears earnest and personal. He seems to be seeking understanding. Guy Beahm does what he never does as Dr Disrespect: He admits to a weakness.
You can tell that it takes him a while to get going and he struggles with himself. But then he says:
“It’s a bit crazy. I’ve played sports my whole life and have always been in high-pressure situations: free throws that decide the game. Or streaming in front of thousands of viewers when everything is at stake. I’m telling you: We’ve had a good life. I’ve never felt fear. Never. I was just: Pff, I don’t care. Get out of my way.
Before the ban … We’re talking about the fact that we overcame a lot of obstacles. We were at such a great point, all cylinders firing, the stream felt incredible. And the feeling that this is taken away from you and not knowing why. Not knowing anything. Nothing said to me. Boom – everything gone. Everything we built, all gone.”
Dr Disrespect
Dr Disrespect says that since then he has anxiety disorders that come in episodes. He really struggles to cope with it.
It seems to weigh on him that in a moment everything he built on Twitch over the years was taken from him.
People said he should be happy about how well things are going on YouTube now and that he should move on and let go of Twitch. But he cannot do that.
He could do that before: He always bounced back from bans and setbacks because he was responsible, he accepted his responsibility and was able to learn from it. There was always a perspective.

Dr Disrespect
Dr Disrespect can no longer participate in any tournaments on Twitch and cannot play with the people he used to play with. This is forbidden for him as a “banned Twitch user”.
The streamer says to his fans that the “dark feelings” come in waves. There will be days when he is not at his best. He tries to get out of it. But he doesn’t know how to let go of the Twitch ban and move on.
He wants to. He tries. But he just doesn’t know how to do it.
This is what’s behind it: Apparently, the streamer, who is so confident during live broadcasts, is now most troubled by his powerlessness. He has no means of action.
In his current situation, as he explained himself, he has to “be silent and clever” and let the lawyers do their thing. He himself is reduced to inactivity.
It is assumed that a legal dispute or arbitration between Dr Disrespect and Twitch is looming in the background.
So far, it is still unclear why Twitch banned the streamer. For a long time, some assumed there must have been serious violations. But to this day, nothing has come to light that would support this theory.
