Valve introduces an optional subscription for the MOBA DotA 2 and replaces the Battle Pass.
So far, there have been two Battle Passes for DotA 2. One revolved around the Major Championships and one around The International tournament. While nothing changes with the International Pass, the Major Battle Pass is replaced by the subscription DotA Plus.
A subscription is coming
The DotA Plus subscription offers you:
- Hero Leveling – Earn Shards during matches to unlock rewards
- New Challenges – Show your skills in new challenges of various difficulty levels
- Plus Assistant – Helps you make build decisions by providing real-time item and ability suggestions
- New Analysis Tools and Graphics – You analyze your playstyle more effectively and see what you can improve in a match
- Death Summary – You can see effects on your hero that led to your death second by second after the match
- Lane Strategy – The team can suggest strategies for lanes
- Return of the Battle Cup – Free access to the weekend tournaments

DotA 2 is very popular in e-sports, but even an AI can play the MOBA very well.
