The Dota 2 tournament “Red Bull Heroicks” starts this Saturday with the second qualifier. Here, both professionals and pure rookie beginner teams can qualify.
The Red Bull Heroicks is a large German Dota 2 esports tournament where real pro teams as well as various rookie teams can compete, thus receiving a chance to measure themselves against the best. In total, there are four so-called “qualifiers” where rookie teams can also earn a spot in the big tournament. This Saturday, on July 23, the second such round will take place, hosted by our sister site GameStar!
So, anyone wishing to participate with their team can still register for the tournament on JoinDOTA until July 23 at 2 PM. There are a total of 512 free spots for aspiring teams. Each team must consist of at least 50 percent players from the German-speaking area, namely Germany, Austria, and Switzerland. Additionally, players can also name a substitute player in case they themselves cannot participate at short notice. However, this player must not be registered with another team.

The final tournament of the Red Bull Heroicks will take place on September 16 in Rastatt near Karlsruhe. There, in addition to the teams participating via the qualifiers, pro teams such as Team OG and Alliance will also be present. What do you think about the Red Bull Heroicks and the qualification rounds? Will you participate or do you lack a suitable team? Or do you think it doesn’t make much sense for a beginner team to compete against real professionals, as these rookies will eat them for breakfast anyway?
