In the MOBA DOTA 2 (Steam), the 5 players of Tundra Esports won the extremely lucrative tournament “The International” and thus became quite certainly millionaires overnight: These are 5 young men aged between 24 and 27, including a German. They have now revealed what they bought first with their winnings.
How much money did they win? With the tournament victory at “The International 2022,” the team “Tundra Esports” won 8.5 million, with approximately 18.9 million $ awarded in total during the tournament:
The prize of each player is recorded at 1.7 million US dollars by e-sports sites.
In reality, however, much less is deposited into their accounts, because numerous fees and taxes are deducted from the money, as one player explained. However, it is still apparently a high sum, even if it is under a million US dollars.

What are the players doing with all that money? The site Forbes, knowledgeable in financial matters, asked the 5 e-sport players what they bought first with the money:
The Israeli “33” (25 – cover image) apparently had a specific wish list with things that were due. He says:
“I rented a new apartment in Bucharest, so I will furnish it and buy myself a new PC and a big TV. I also got myself a new laptop and gifted my girlfriend an iPhone. So I will go on a bit of a shopping spree, but I wouldn’t say I’m particularly extravagant… except for the vacation in Thailand, where we stayed in a few nice 5-star hotels.”
The North Macedonian Saska (27) is looking for new items for his house because he just found an apartment and wants to renovate it this summer. He bought his parents a new laptop and now wants to gift others when he has the opportunity.
German professional first upgrades his flight for “a touch of luxury”
The 24-year-old German player Nine says he has first upgraded his flight to business class to treat himself to “a touch of luxury”. He is now planning to buy a car.
The Slovak skiter also indulged in an upgrade of his flight and is considering getting a new car:
I bought an expensive sweater, a coat, and upgraded my flight to business class. Everything else is quite normal. I’m considering replacing my 2004 Volkswagen Golf with a newer car, but I don’t know which one yet.
The team captain of Tundra Esports, the 27-year-old American Sneyking, seems not to know yet what he wants to treat himself to: He has only bought himself a new wallet. Apparently, he first needs a stylish way to store all that new cash.
