What we now know about DOOM Eternal
How cool is the gameplay demo: The gameplay demo features many different weapons, all of which apparently play differently. These include:
- a minigun
- sniper rifles
- and the iconic double-barrel shotgun
Also included are Glory Kills such as dismemberment with the chainsaw or ripping off limbs, which then directly kill the demons.
The Doomslayer also received cool features in Eternal. A flamethrower is attached to his left shoulder, a grappling hook is under his weapons, and he has a blade on his arm, which allows him to execute spectacular finishers.
This is the new setting: DOOM Eternal takes place on Earth after the Doomslayer has returned from his mission on Mars. He now wants to free his home planet from demons.
Is there a multiplayer? Yes. DOOM Eternal will feature a “Battlemode” multiplayer mode. It will be a competitive mode.
Two demons with unique abilities face off, and they can also summon more demons. They are fighting against a Doomslayer who stands against them.
Bethesda described the mode as “Demonic strategy against Slayer skill.”
