The anime MMO Genshin Impact is set to receive new updates. The developers have already mentioned specific dates. However, this often does not satisfy the fans, who want to know earlier how the story continues.
The Chinese developer MiHoYo has explained in its official blog what fans can expect from Genshin Impact in the coming months. A roadmap is mentioned up until February 2021. However, those who want more story and major content will have to be patient.
Already, mini-events for co-op have been announced that are supposed to come “very soon”.
Genshin Impact 1.1: What the next update offers
When is the next update coming? The developers of Genshin Impact have finally announced a date for the highly anticipated update 1.1. The update is set to arrive on November 11, 2020.
What content does the update offer? The update 1.1 offers, in addition to a new event, many improvements. On reddit.com, some fans have translated the Chinese blog:
- With 1.1, a monster and plants encyclopedia is finally set to be introduced. This provides you with a direct overview of the strengths and weaknesses of opponents.
- There will be equipment that allows you to quickly use food for healing. This should be very practical for battles.
- You can report co-op players. There are also talks of an in-game chat.
- You can also disable the auto-camera and reconfigure your keys or controller. A feature that many fans wish for (via reddit.com).
Why you shouldn’t play too fast: By the way, there has been no mention of an update to the story so far. So if you were hoping to get new content with update 1.1, you might be disappointed. Instead, alongside a new event, there will mainly be many bug fixes and improvements.
Genshin Impact 1.1 offers new events – free chance for Fischl?
With 1.1, there will also be a new event called “The Unreturned Star”. However, it is not yet known what the event will consist of. It will probably consist of daily quests and similar tasks that you have to complete within a certain time.
Could Fischl be available for free? A picture has surfaced on Twitter indicating that there will also be a “Golden House Event”. For this, you have to complete a specific quest to unlock Fischl. Fischl is among the S-characters on our tier list for Genshin Impact, making her one of the strongest characters in the game.
Whether the event quest takes place during “The Unreturned Star” or will be something separate is still unknown.
In the end, you need to solve a similar task as for other free heroes:
- You can unlock Barbara for free until the first update by reaching adventure rank 20. Then you will automatically receive her in your inbox (via forums.mihoyo.com).
- You can unlock Xiangling by reaching level 3 – 3 of the Spiral Abyss. There is no time limit for this.
However, you should note that there is no official statement from the developer regarding Fischl yet. Events have also occurred during the closed beta.
Genshin Impact update: What’s next
In addition to 1.1, two more updates have been announced. These are set to come in December 2020 and Spring 2021:
- Update 1.2 is set to be released on December 23, 2020, bringing the new region “Dragonspine Snow Mountain” (presumably Dracospine in German) with plenty of new activities. There might also be a new story segment. At least the chances are not bad.
- Update 1.3 is scheduled for February 2021. Here, the “Lantern Rite Festival”, an event series, will take place. There is no date yet for when the event will start.
Developer MiHoYo recently stated that it wants to support Genshin Impact for a long time and has many new contents planned for the game. They stand at the very beginning of Genshin Impact and wish to entertain and engage players for a long time.
