In Ubisoft’s open world shooter Far Cry 5, there are various NPC “Guns for Hire” that you can hire as companions. One of them is a dog, and his arguments are quite convincing.
In Far Cry 5, you can not only play in coop mode, but you also have the option to recruit certain NPCs as “Guns for Hire”. You have the choice between 7 pre-made companions, each with their own traits:
- Nick Rye, the bush pilot
- Jess Black, the merciless huntress
- Hurk Drubman Jr., a hillbilly with a rocket launcher
- Adelaide Drubman, the helpful helicopter pilot
- Sharky Boshaw, a crazed pyromaniac
- Grace Armstrong, the cold-hearted sniper
But the last missing companion has the best arguments!
Woof, I am a good boy!
In a funny video, all 7 Guns for Hire introduce themselves in their own way, and each character has strong arguments for themselves. However, at the end of the video, the final character is introduced and is sure to win the hearts of most players!

Because “Gun for Hire” number 7 is a dog named Boomer. Boomer then explains who he is and what has happened to him by barking, growling, and whimpering:
- Boomer is a good boy who works hard
- Bad men killed Boomer’s family. This makes him sad, and he wants to take revenge on the bad men
- He attacks bad people and knocks them over
- He bites the bad people, and it’s fun!
- He steals the bad people’s “loud sticks.” By this, he means rifles.
- Boomer only asks that you occasionally scratch his belly in return.
The best friend of man!
Boomer is both cute and highly effective. If you send him after the cult followers in Far Cry 5, they will have nothing to laugh about. The brave dog literally goes for their throats and even brings you back the loot.
He really is a “good boy”!
In this 1.5-hour gameplay video of Far Cry 5, Boomer is also featured.
