With the update 1.1.4, the Crucible playlist in Destiny 2 will rotate weekly. Bungie released an overview including game modes and dates. Does this rotation plan also reveal the release date of the 2nd DLC?
With the next major update 1.1.4 on March 27, a lot of changes are coming to Destiny 2. The sandbox will be extensively adjusted – the balance of classes and weapons will be redefined. Also, the PvP will be fundamentally revised.
As part of the Crucible changes, the popular Rumble mode will make its return. The Iron Banner will also return in the long-awaited 6vs6 format.

In anticipation of the upcoming update milestone, Bungie released an overview of the rotation dates with the corresponding game modes:

- 04/03 Hexenkessel
- 04/10 Eisenbanner
- 04/17 Rumble

- 05/01 Eisenbanner
Does Bungie’s rotation overview reveal the release date for the 2nd DLC?
Notably, this schedule obviously ends with the conclusion of the last listed Iron Banner on 05/01. On 05/08, the PvP modes should actually rotate again. However, there are no additional dates set for this date and beyond.
When looking more closely at the recent developments surrounding Destiny 2, it quickly becomes evident that another important event could claim 05/08 for itself – the release of the 2nd expansion.
Official information is still pending, but recently temporary listings from the retail giants Amazon and GameStop revealed both the alleged name and the release date of the 2nd DLC. This is to be titled “The Fallen Warmind” and is set to release on 05/08/2018 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
Thus, more and more indications point to an actual release of the next expansion on May 8, 2018.
Moreover, an official announcement from Bungie shouldn’t take much longer. After March 27, the studio will likely focus entirely on the promotion of DLC II.
