Is the PUBG developer now trolling the cheaters of the Battle Royale hit? They believe they are only playing with cheaters.
In recent weeks and months, the PUBG developers have repeatedly emphasized that they want to address the cheater problem in the game. Often, one encounters cheaters in the Battle Royale hit: aim-bots, wallhacks, and speedhacks are not uncommon.
But instead of immediately kicking all the cheaters out of the game, developer Bluehole may have unveiled a better tactic. The cheaters feel mocked.

It seems that developer Bluehole has introduced a cheater matchmaking in PUBG. Many “salty” cheaters are complaining on social media that something has changed.
Reports of cheaters are being shared on Reddit. One writes, “After I finished my new aimbot yesterday, I wanted to try it out and win a match only with the crossbow. After that, just one with a pistol.
Then I noticed that my matchmaking time was suddenly much higher than usual.”
These statements confirm other players. They also noticed longer wait times and strange behavior from opponents. “I experience the same. Whenever I get killed, it’s by some gods who can hit me with every shot. Even though I’m running around like The Flash!”
PUBG Cheaters – Banned or on a Leash?
In the comments on Reddit, there is speculation about whether Bluehole has possibly integrated a cheater matchmaking system. It could be that the developers first put “suspicious” accounts into this special queue to monitor their behavior.
On the other hand, the developers may simply want to have some fun and annoy the cheaters while the PUBG team gathers more interesting information on the cheat software.
The exact aim of this action is unclear. If there really is cheater matchmaking, it has a significant advantage for you: They would be out of the “normal games”.
Many players are probably wondering now: If they have already identified the cheaters, why not ban them immediately?
The logic behind this becomes clear at second glance. Many cheaters quickly acquire a new account after being banned. In the times of Steam, that is quick and straightforward. It only takes a few minutes for hackers to play again after their ban.
However, once the cheaters are in a special cheater queue, they only realize after two or three games: “Hmm, something’s not right here. Why is everyone so good?”
During this time, the cheaters are not in the “normal” games with you. Thus, Bluehole may be extending the time in which cheaters cannot bother you. A difference that should quickly become noticeable.
