In The Division 2, an ETF member clears up some myths and rumors.
Who is speaking? The post by Agent Airjarhead is currently receiving a lot of attention on the Division reddit. He writes that he recently served as an ETF member. During that time, he was allowed to travel to Sweden and speak with the developers about the future of The Division 2.
While Massive still hasn’t revealed anything about the game’s future – which should change this week – the ETF member now wants to clear up some myths and rumors that are circulating in the community.
“The developers don’t care what the community wants”
This is the rumor: The agent writes that he asked his clan members for input when he found out he would become an ETF member. About half responded: “Why bother – they don’t listen anyway.”
And many agents think that – and to be honest, he believed it for a while too.

This is what the ETF member says: These thoughts were shattered on the first day of the ETF. A developer gave a presentation on an upcoming change. They then discussed it, and the ETF members agreed that a change would be advisable. The developer then went back to the team, they discussed the proposed change, and then they decided to implement it. This ETF proposal will therefore be implemented.
Furthermore, the ETF members called for more transparency, and the next day the “September schedule” was released.
These are just a few examples. But you can trust him, Massive cares a lot about the community’s opinion.
“The developers don’t see the opinions on reddit”
This is the rumor: Some agents think it doesn’t matter what is posted on reddit. The developers won’t see it anyway.
This is what the ETF member says: The reddit user JokerUnique, who is very present on the Division reddit, was also at the ETF workshop. He brought a 80-90 page summary containing things that reddit users want. He is an invaluable member of the community who maintains strong communication with the developers.

“The ETF is just a publicity stunt”
This is the rumor: Some agents speculate that the ETF has no impact on The Division 2, but that they were only invited so Massive can say: “We are close to the community!” It’s all a publicity stunt.
This is what the ETF member says: The agent writes that nothing could be further from the truth. If this had been a promotional event, they would have showcased the ETF agents publicly, pulled them in front of the camera, or taken a group photo for online sharing. They didn’t even demand that.
Moreover, many more well-known streamers or YouTubers would have been invited. According to the agent, only one streamer (SolidFPS) and one YouTuber (LtBuzzLitebeer) were present, the rest consisted only of regular players who play The Division 2.
He felt that they were invited for one reason only: to tell the developers what they think of the game and to discuss changes.

“The developers don’t even play their game”
This is the rumor: One of the most popular rumors in the community is that the developers don’t even play The Division 2. Because if they did, the agents claim, they would have discovered all the bugs themselves and would realize that The Division 2 isn’t fun.
This is what the ETF member says: When he entered the Massive studio, he saw several developers playing The Division 2 right away. He is sure that a few developers playing were not arranged to create a good impression because he arrived late due to the weather.
Finally, he would like to emphasize that he was impressed by how much time each ETF member was given to express their opinions and concerns. He is excited about the future of the game.
