Famous streamer Michael “Shroud” Grzesiek anticipated being away from Apex Legends and Twitch for a longer time after a car accident. But because a doctor recognized him and changed the surgery, Shroud can continue streaming now.
That’s why Shroud anticipated a break: The streamer broke his left arm in a scooter accident three weeks ago.
After the first surgery, he was back on Twitch and playing Apex Legends, but with a handicap, as he liked to emphasize. Although the famous aiming arm of the “human aimbot” was still intact, his keyboard arm was restricted.
Now Shroud anticipated being out for some time after a second surgery on March 29 on his elbow. He confirmed to his followers on Twitter after the surgery: The arm hurt too much, and his hands weren’t cooperating.
In the few days after the surgery, Shroud tweeted from his hospital bed: He was somewhat bored, his arm hurt, and he seemed a bit dazed.
That’s why Shroud is streaming now: On April 1, Shroud announced that he could stream again.
Shroud says live in the stream:
“One of the doctors recognized me just before I was operated on. He told my surgeon who I am. Then they really quickly googled how to sit when playing with a mouse and keyboard. So they changed the type of operation so that my arm wouldn’t rest on the incision when I play.”
During the new operation, Shroud didn’t receive a straight incision but rather a round incision around the elbow. Therefore, his elbow doesn’t rest on the metal plate when he plays.
Fans are worried: You should rest
This is how the fans react: Many fans expressed concern before the stream. On Twitter, some say he should rather take a break and give the bone time to heal.
When he apologizes for a “mediocre stream,” some say: Even a mediocre stream from Shroud is better than what else is available on Twitch.
However, again some urge that he should take it easy.
Fueled ambition
This was the prelude: The scooter accident was exaggerated by Shroud’s rival on Twitch, DrDisrespect, painting Shroud a bit as a wimp.
A “scooter” doesn’t seem to be a mode of transport that the Doctor takes seriously.
Shroud replied that he was still better in Battlefield 5 with a broken arm than the “slow Doc.”
After that, they both motivated each other a bit:
