That’s why the Game Pass is interesting for users with weak hardware
Here’s what’s interesting: Currently, remasters, or revamped versions of old classics, are particularly popular among gamers. Games like Diablo 2 are eagerly awaited or other remasters like Tony Hawks Pro Skater are highly rated. Others, however, at least have a broad fan base.
The games require relatively little resources and you can look into the games for comparatively low costs.
Besides classics, there are also plenty of exciting indie games that run with low requirements and can provide a lot of fun.
Who is it worth it for? It is currently especially worth it for players who do not want to pay high scalpers prices for graphics cards and therefore want or have to wait. This includes both indie games and older titles that run smoothly with low system requirements.

Starbound
Genre: Open-World, Sandbox | Developer: Chucklefish | Release Date: July 22, 2016
What is Starbound? Starbound is a sandbox game and similar to Terraria. Although Starbound offers you a story, you can freely choose what you do and where you go. Instead of being in one world, you travel through dozens of planets that you can discover and colonize. You collect resources, upgrade your spaceship, and establish colonies. You can also play Starbound cooperatively.
However, gameplay gradually becomes repetitive with many tasks. Especially the scanning missions of planets are tedious. The interface is also not very successful.
Does it run on my PC? Starbound requires very little computer resources. As a minimum, the game requires a dual-core processor and 2 GB of RAM. A graphics card with 256 MB of video memory should also be no problem for most.
How is the game rated? On Steam, the game has over 72,000 reviews with “very positive” or 91% positive ratings. Users praise the large scope of the game and the beautiful graphics.
Overcooked! 2
Genre: Jump-and-Run | Developer: Ghost Town Games Ltd | Release Date: August 7, 2018
What is Overcooked 2? Overcooked 2 is a fun cooperative title for several evenings and is also suitable for children. Together in a team with up to four players, it is your task to prepare food for a sinister force of undead bread, the Unbread. You must adhere to recipes and adjust to the ever-changing kitchens.
The whole thing happens under time pressure. If you manage all tasks in a certain period, you unlock the next level. Teamwork is incredibly important. However, this can also make the game very hectic. Overall, the game offers a rather short length.
Does it run on my PC? As minimum requirements, an Intel i3-2100 or an AMD A8-5600k and a total of 4 GB of RAM are required. This makes the requirements very low. You also do not need a graphics card to play the game.
How is the game rated? On Steam, the game receives a “very positive” rating (90%) with more than 19,000 ratings. The chaotic co-op mode and the fun presentation are praised. The very short story mode is criticized.
Among Us
Genre: Survival | Developer: Innersloth | Release Date: November 16, 2018
What is Among Us? Among Us draws on well-known classics like Werewolf or Mafia (via Wikipedia): Together, you want to achieve a goal, but among the players, there is a cheater or killer. Among Us ports the popular principle to PC. Especially at the end of 2020, Among Us saw a massive increase in players.
Communication is everything in the game, as regular polls are held to identify the cheater. In addition, the spaceship must continue to be made ready, which can be repeatedly sabotaged by opponents. However, to really enjoy the game, you should have a certain number of players (4+).
Does it run on my PC? Among Us is probably the game on our list with the lowest requirements. You need a processor that supports at least SSE2. This should be the case unless your processor is older than 2001 (Intel) or 2003 (AMD). 1 GB of RAM is also negligible.
How is the game rated? The game is rated “extremely positive” (95%) with 445,000 reviews on Steam. The fun gameplay is praised, but some complain that the game still lacks an internal reporting or friendship system.
Tetris Effect: Connected
Genre: Puzzle | Developer: Resonair | Release Date: November 9, 2018
What is Tetris Effect: Connected? This game also offers you the well-known indestructible gameplay: blocks fall from above and you must place them skillfully to form a row. Connected offers you a wealth of multiplayer features in addition to the classic gameplay. You can compete against other players or test the cooperative Connect mode with friends. Leaderboards also keep things interesting.
The soundtrack plays rather uninspired, and the PC and Xbox versions do not offer VR support. Tetris Effect is perfect for the Gamepass when you need a quick game in between.
Does the game run on my PC? The game requires at least an Intel i3-4340 and 4 GB of RAM. The graphics card requirements are also set low, with Direct X 10 and 2 GB of video memory.
How is the game rated? On OpenCritic, the game is rated with 87/100 based on 31 reviews. The game is praised for its puzzle elements and significantly improved PC version.
Astroneer
Genre: Survival | Developer: System Era Softworks | Release Date: December 16, 2016
What is Astroneer? Above and below the earth, you build your bases. You have the option to build your own vehicles. Your terraforming tool is always with you: with it, you can build, collect resources, or dig up the world. There is a lot to discover in the game world.
The peculiarity does not lie in defeating enemies or big bosses but in building complex production chains. If you want to travel to the next planet, you need a shuttle. You must produce goods and research blueprints, as well as obtain power and oxygen for the shuttle. The complex system keeps you engaged and is very motivating.
Does it run on my PC? The game needs at least a dual-core processor with a clock speed of more than 2 GHz. 4 GB of RAM is common in almost every computer system today and should not be an issue. A graphics card with at least 1 GB of video memory is required; that should not pose a hurdle for most older PCs either.
How is the game rated? With over 62,000 ratings, 90% are positive, resulting in a “Very Positive” rating on Steam. It is praised for the “beautiful world”, various content, and a good crafting system.
What’s on the next page: On the second list, you will find four more recommended single-player titles that require no high system specifications yet are very recommended.
Among them, you’ll find two Elder Scrolls games, real classics that you should at least know. There is also a modern indie title that has already received a sequel and is worth a look for its story.
